I was just on the server, ping of 113, no gazelling, even when I was outside Manhatten with my Osiris mauling NPCs, though I DID have a little yellow lag ( which was slightly odd, since there were only 3people on at the time..) but then it didn't really happend again.

Overall it seems good.. just so long as it is dedicated to Freelancer, not running other servers at the same time, it would be fine. Though I'd prefer Majkp's server, just because of its location, I had a ping of 48 to that server.. which is pretty good..

Anyway: I don't really see the problem with having 1billion starter money, it's only got the temp files atm, so it's all going to be wiped when/if the player files do arrive, and nobody really wants to spend all that time trading to get a battleship...though 500mll would be enough..

EDIT: The starter money would obviously be put RIGHT down to 8 500 if the servers made permanent..:P

I flew on the server today for a bit and everything was running smoothly. We only had around 7 people on at the time though.

To the people who are angry at Josh for stuff in the past. Please, he is offering to help keep this community going. Anyone who does that is good in my books and I don't see why he should be good in yours either.

The starting money of 1mil is ok for now, but I hope you guys realise that as soon as it gets permanent (if), we will ahve the old starting money again. Its not like were gonna leave it at a mil...

And most likly any chars will be deleted that were made once he gets (if) the playerfiles.

No one wants to work for something that's only temporary. That's why I was suggesting the 1bil starter for now: when the REAL PlayerDB comes back online, by all means 8,500 starter.

On a serious note, one million is more than enough to start a temporary character. I think going overboard (a pun, since this is a game about ships, space or otherwise) with one billion would be detrimental to it all.

@ gezza That was a friend starting his 2142 server, nothing major, only happend that once.

With the other clan now paying me for renting out a bf2142 server I am upgrading the ram. It will now be 2gbs of ram. And yes i know FL uses more CPU, but Bf usually uses more ram. This should help balance the loads and all.
