This is the first beta release in Discovery history when I have no server to install the new mod on. Sadly.
However, this version will be installed on our server when it will be back. And maybe BULLDOGNK and other admins will consider installing it on their servers and providing additional download mirrors.
This release fixes certain balance issues that were found in the first beta (needs further testing) and adds some new features, like one new ship (quite beautiful, IMO) and a renewed Connecticut system. Here's a map of the new Connecticut racing ring, you'll need it if you'll try to survive there...
There's also a new clientside setup option that reduces battleship spinning (also needs testing). This option adds the following line to DATA\constants.ini file:
ANOM_LIMITS_MAX_ANGULAR_VELOCITY_PER_PSI = 0.004
Unfortunately, this will not only reduce spinning but make all ships handle like bri... battleships. So you'll either need to remove this line yourself each time you fly a fighter, or re-activate mod with this option off. It is off by default.
Note that this clientside option does not have reverse effect. Battleships won't handle like fighters if you set this constant to higher values. So you won't be able to cheat on maneuverability setting this to 0.5 or 100.
- New ship: Huntress Cruiser
- Connecticut system re-done (almost) from scratch.
Now has a new station, planets, mine fields, and more... explore yourself!
- All shipyards now sell capital ships, along with shields, weapons, and equipment for capital ships.
- Fighter turret levels range from 1 to 5 now (original levels were divided by two, so level 10 is now level 5, level 7 is level 4 etc).
This is necessary to distinguish between larger and smaller turrets.
- Battleship Mode added (FOR TEST ONLY).
Battleship Mode is a clienside option that might reduce battleship spinning. Note that using it requires re-activating the mod each time you change ships. Anything smaller than a cruiser won't fly normally with BS Mode enabled.
- Ship stats changed for Viper, Werewolf, Hyena and a number of other fighters.
- Frigates can equip battleship shields again.
- Gunboat weapons deal less damage, but have better range.
- Flak turrets became more powerful.
- Liner and Prison Liner have less gunboat turret slots.
- Warning Notification and Fine Notification commodities added.
- Armor takes up more cargo space (up to 5), codename weapons now require cargo space to carry.
- HUD: Blocks returned in place of solid lines.
- Fixed a few bugs, corrected infocard errors.

BTW, Discoverygc is on a great server. I download 600 kb/s from it. Thats about 45 seconds of download time. Sweet...
I am a long-absent Supreme Commander, Executive Commander, Grand Admiral, Fleet Admiral, and Captain in the mighty Hellfire Legion. I have returned, and am on an urgent mission from Drake Thastus to return the Legion to its former glory, and to claim the galaxy for its own. Only then will I be able to rest.

I like the Huntress, but having all 3 ships sold on the shipyards is kinda overkill, i would move the GB back to crete. Also, no corsair cruiser turrets sold on shipyards, might be nice if there were some, as it is a corisar base.
