How to bring that fun back

Last couple weeks I have found myself frustrated at shot down rp ideas, bored with smuggling, generally being irritated at people and I almost never get into fights or pirate. I find myself not having near as much fun as I was a while back.

So the question I would ask is what do you do to bring the fun back when your getting sick of the game?

Try to visit your local park or just get together with some friends or go hiking.

Video games are much more enjoyable when they're a "sit down for 30 minutes and play" type of deal rather than a second job.

Do something radical.

I'm not going to list some of my "by night" characters for fear of being killed.
But if you're bored, do something crazy.

Example:
RP a Lane Hacker in a Dagger whose experiments with Ageira jumpgate tech landed him in the Omicrons.
Flying with absolutely wrong ships in an absolutely wrong area is always so much fun.

RP a pirate who talks like an olde pirate and who hunts down gold (and maybe diamond) traders all over Sirius.
And then jettison all the loot into a planet's atmosphere, "burying" your booty.

Don't be afraid to stretch the limits, be inventive, and just be crazy.

Something crazy.

Well, perhaps you can spend time helping the new people discovering this game . .

I enjoy making a new character in a starflyer, or Rhino, and working with new gamers. Helping them trade, fight, helping with basic RP in game . . .

Roleplay a ghost, I mean a real ghost. Try to stick to rarely visited systems and then when you see someone there, switch characters and just try to freak people out with weird behavior.

Join the Zoners Consortium because were are looking into doing some crazy roleplaying ideas. We have already made the largest convoy back in April (24 participants) and are looking to do another one. I don't like to brag but we are doing some pretty radical things as far as RP on this server goes. One example is roleplaying the creation of a battleship class vessel which is already 2 months long. We expect that it will be a 3-4 months long contruction -- making it the first BS in Disco to be developed for such a period of time. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Aye. You can also get a nomad morph and just fly around Sirius. You will more than likely get shot at a lot, but if you try to roleplay with folks you will be surprised how many people will actually roleplay along.

I have been kicking around some unique ideas, mainly about gallia, but I meet so much hostility with them I just say "why bother".

Also people mentioned to get away from the game, right now it and tf2 are about all I have to do. College starts next week and when it does (I moved in this weekend) I have to make all new friends due to all my buddies getting maried (man that one kills guy hang out times) or moved 2 hours away. So yeah...

To the zoner idea.....yeah some zoners I like but I dont like how they responded to certain things and would rather not deal with that attitude.

And I have been helping newbies out. Just not to fond of it since im a grumpy boy right now.

The thing is, any of my radical RPs would have beenshot down if I talked to people about them. Humans are negative and miserable by nature, and they're seldom accepting of shiny new ideas.

With awesome RPs, you have to do it yourself, prove it - or just enjoy it yourself - and bypass human negativity that is found in the forums or other people's ideas.

(Note: Bounce it across people you trust, but not across the general public.)

Basically, all I have to say is check Zapp's Signature.

I'd second this. I've been enjoying RP much more ever since sports started up. Now I sit down to relax instead of sitting down to see if anything had happened that would be disastrous to anything.

But, seems that college is helping you with that. Just take a little break and come back. ;)

[12:49:19 AM] Elgatodiablo: You know its nice that you have all that proof and all, Bacon... but I just don't believe you.
