I was looking for a thread or forum section where items are sold/bought (mostly code's), and in my search I found a few references to the "Sirius Stock Exchange" or something, "over in 24/7 RP" forum section, but I can find no such thread or subforum...
So on to my question: Is there such a place? A central location where people can post "want to buy" or "want to sell" type orders on these forums?
For the record, I DID use the search function first :D
Shares in Ageira can be bought and sold, search up Ageira shares in the Open MArket and you can find a list of shareholders and offer them prices for their shares in the company.
Zigeris tried. The main issues appear to be that A) there are no stock exchange simulators readily available that allow you to supply a different feed than Wall Street (although I'm sure one of your European chaps can find a way around that), B) people use the money they get from corporations to fund non-corporate activities, and C) there's no reliable way to get information about how a company is doing that doesn't take absurd amounts of time. This is still a game, after all.
The only way I can see it working is if all corporations involved put forward a mechanism they have for changing their stock value.
Here's an idea I came up with on the fly, so bear with me if it doesn't make much sense- have a google spreadsheet or some scripted webpage where members report their activities after being online on their corporate characters. For each time they complete a route, it adds x to some "value". For each time they get successfully pirated, it subtracts some y. So forth and so on for each activity the faction does. This would then automatically compute the "worth" of the faction using some algorithm, and feed data to a stock exchange that could be run almost automatically. It would certainly require a third-party site, but I know enough coding to develop a structure for someone more HTML-knowledgeable to write up.
I'm definitely interested in seeing this get started properly, though, and I'm sure a lot of others are too.
the best way to do this actually is to ask admins to form a stock exchange admin team that actually has acess to the official corporation banks.
based on that number, your index can either grow or fall down. ofcourse, then you have to hire someone who's better with numbers and knows how things progress from there.
