I'm guessing since it is a mod weapon. Igiss just never bothered too put it in a wreak and anyways, its too powerful to be given away for Free IMHO. Its sold in the Unknown Systems anyways, so that basically means its rare and hard to get too. You can also buy the Class 10 Paralyzer too.
*Hand up at the back of the class* ... Please sir, Colada del Cid is a class ten weapon too ... You can buy that
one. Can I have a cookie now ?
Though that won't do you guys any good, Corsair toy only ...

It used to be Verg, but thats when it was an uber killer, where you could sit there flying in circles, not seeing your opponent and hold the torp key down. You could fly and never see your opponent, but the sidewinder would kill it. Now it has less maneuverability, and can't track that well. Also, its required for a missile slot, as before it was torp and people didn't have a problem, because they weren't giving up a gun mount for it. Now they have to.
I believe the purple goddess is a class 9 weapon..and thanks Hood, I forgot about the Colada.
So Verg, you think the reason the Solaris isn't found in wrecks only is that they are, in fact, more powerful than the other class 10 weapons like the code names and Nomads and should cost a lot of money to get. I guess that makes sense, but why classify these two weapons the same as nomads and codenames if they are so much better? I believe that the codename weapons and the two modded class 10 weapons are basically equal in power, only they require a different level of skill to use effectively. Therefor these weapons should all be treated the same way in terms of their accesibility to players.
I'm also thinking that putting all class 10s in wrecks would actually limit their use more because you can only get at most 2 of them from a wreck at a time. You could further limit the use of the weapon by putting only one of them in a wreck at a time-and perhaps only putting them in one wreck in the whole mod, meaning a person would have to visit a wreck 4 to 6 times before they have a full load of them. 4 to 6 visits to a wreck is at least a week of time passing by waiting for your weapons-assuming the server resets regularly...how much money can be made trading for a week? half a billion? The ultimate currency in Freelancer is not credits, but time. Not all situations equate credits with time and the amount of time it takes to collect a reasonable number of wreck spawning equipment is considerable. The amount of time it takes to trade up enough money to buy a similar number of Coladas or Solaris is much smaller.
The Colada is a problem in this scenario as it is actually a faction weapon as Hood pointed out. A faction weapon that is sold at a nuetral base rather than a Corsair base. Not only that, it is the only faction class 10 weapon in the mod. Shouldn't the Colada be treated the same as the torp mounted inferno found on Malta? The Colada should be sold at Crete and be just as expensive as the inferno: Inferno costs 7.6 mil, Colada costs 256k which means to make the Colada relatively as expensive it should be increasted to 1.3 mil each (7.6 mil divided by 6 to account for the diff between torp mounted weapon and regular gun.)
The other alternative is to take the Inferno and Colada and put them in wrecks instead of on bases. Better yet, put them in wrecks in the guard systems of their respective factions.
