The spots these would take are already occupied by ... *surprise* ... Mk.II fighters. So, I fly useful upgraded vanilla models.

Edit: One more reason against this. It will inevitably mean a downgrade in the quality of the models.

That'd require an over-haul of the whole mod if you want to be able to start any other way than trading but we've already the Mk2 ships, as MarvinCZ said.

I agree with all the dev's who're saying they don't see the use, etc.

And with MarvinCZ in particular about the Templar... I just do not want that.

I'm gona same the same about the Hussar too, that, can't replace the Hussar, it looks obese. With a few changes, maybe as a Paladin replace, as many people dislike having a Tie Fighter.

The Scimitar... a microscopic change, and the textures on the nose look a bit odd to me for some reason.

The Switchblade.... looks.... odd... the nose is the main problem again really, don't piss around with the Dagger's nose, leave it original, add the winglet thingies if you want, but otherwise, unchanged. No idea why, I have an un-natural attachment to them so.

The Chimaera... looks ok I guess, though, the rear fin looks odd.

The Avenger/Defender/whatever it's called... No idea, I don't fly it.

The Manta... just looks odd to me. No clue why. Sorry.

Same with the Wraith.

The Hyena & Werewolf, you've just added winglets and changed the angles of others? I really don't see the point of that. Barely noticeable difference.

The Griffin, looks dodgy in a few places...

To end off, I'll just ask you to re-read the second sentence.

This is my signature.

And I will ask you (the last few posters besides Cameron and reavingitair) to the entire rest of the thread up to this point.

I simply will not repeat my stance again.

In other more productive lines of thought;

Cameron; Any specific ideas why you don't like them quite as much?
reavengitair; the list of Hardpoints is dictated by the original MK-II hardpoints.
I am adding and subtracting nothing, simply placing them again once the models are complete.
Ill look into the centered thruster (I'm a fan of symmetry myself)

That is all for now, I have the rest but I am too tired this morning to finish uploading pictures.

Guys, has it ever occurred to you that some of us are tired of seeing the same old ships? Plus, those ships were from the year 800 A.S. In 17 years, there would've been some technological advancement, which I believe was pointed out by others in this topic as well.

Carlos Rivera: Corsair Brotherhood Pirate - Retired, shifted to Tripoli Shipyard's Research and Development engineering teams
Anthony Cameron: Guild Core Bounty Hunter - Killed in Action, committed suicide after being trapped in Omicron Minor following its destruction
Juan Ruiz: Outcast Ghost of Razgriz Pirate - Killed in Action, killed by the Sirius Coalition Revolutionary Army during Bretonian piracy raid
Michael Winchester: Liberty Security Force Agent - Missing in Action, likely killed during Rheinland espionage mission or trapped in Rheinland Space
Eric McCormick: Order Pilot - Retired, shifted to planetside training of new recruits

Liberty and Nomad Backstory, Very interesting - read it!

Sure they are technologically advanced, just check the stats. We don't have to downgrade the models for that. Individual models can be considered, if they're really good. Don't count on getting them all in though. But keep going, don't let us disturb you. I'm sure it's a good modelling exercise.

to the OP: Check your image sizes. A lot of them are overlarge. It makes looking through the thread quite annoying.

You can ignore what they say El-Geeko, but most devs already posted here that they dont like it. Which means it probably wont get into the game.

As said before, you would need to change whole mod to suit these new models. (which are mostly kitbashes with some ununseful fancy stuff added)

Good luck continuing your pointless work.

Let me make this 100% clear one last time.

If its an unnacceptable ship pack (whether by its own faults or because the dev team refused to accept majority vote), then it will be a finished, submitted ship pack nonetheless.
accepted or not.

I don't quit.

And lets also be clear on the fact that Ill do whatever I'm allowed to do within the bounds of propriety to see that its accepted.

Its by no means pointless either, if nothing else at all and if all else fails its a modeling exercise.
If you consider a learning exercise (with at least some chance however slight of becoming part of the mod) pointless then thats your opinion.

I'm not going to hold a grudge or take this personally if they don't get accepted. Heck yes I will be *disappointed* and may lower my expectations for the future of this mod, but I won't be angry with anyone (who remained civil about this) by any stretch of the imagination.

I'd hope that the converse is true and that if I can push these through to acceptance that those who dislike this will not hold a grudge against me.

Now, that I have gone and explained myself yet again (its getting old as that place opposite Heaven) Ill be uploading the alpha pictures of the last ones this evening.

Then its a long hard hardpointing process during which time I will be kicking off another project or two in other areas, and pursuing channels to push for better odds for the acceptance of these when they reach final phase.

This has been the 12:00 afternoon News, I am your anchorman El-Geeko signing off to pursue real life interests for several hours.
Good afternoon and Good luck. ;)

Well, you can do what you want, but there is a lot of imports that cry for replacing, and not much modellers doing the replacements.

You could focus on that instead. But if you want to continue with this... whatever, no one is stopping you of course.

As I said, I intend to move into a couple new projects as well, and while one of them may attract some controversy (no, it has nothing to do with ships...) the other should more or less be universally accepted.

(I hate the imports too, fear not. )

Suggestions:

Werewolf
The extra fins you added aren't really needed. The box the thruster is mounted on could be shortened, and the central engine moved up so it's closer to the middle. The middle fins could also be moved forward a bit.

Templar
The fins on the engines can go, the engines, and the bit where they connect, can be made a bit larger, and maybe lessen the curve of the wings.
