Yes, this is another topic about their sheer awesomeness and the ability to kill everything. So, this is yet another one of the many solutions on how to make them less...awesome.
Now, to prepare myself...*puts on flame-proof suit*
Okay, here we go. This is my opinion about this issue.
We should remove ALL guns and turrets from all ALL bombers. Yeah, it's radical, BUT...all bombers should get 2 torpedo slots and a CD slot, like the barghest, and their size should remain the same, or even reduced. Naturally, the SNAC power should optionally be increased a bit. Now, this results in the following:
1. fighter pilots will be happy, since killing bombers would be a lot easier.
2. capital pilots won't be happy if the SNAC gets even better.
3. bomber pilots will become angry 'cause their uberpwn ship lost all of its guns.
Now, there's another issue. Bombers would barely make it through missions, especially Corsairs and Outcasts, since their missions are...well, harder than others. Now, if missions were nerfed A BIT (NOT A LOT), this would make it almost perfect for everyone. Cap pilots would still whine about their lousy guns, but this isn't so bad, since the role of a cap is to blow up other caps, not bombers.
So...there you have it, my honest opinion about this issue.

No. The problem isn't really the bomber killing VHF (even if it's a big problem), it's : a capital with his fighter escort will be ALWAYS down by the bombers attack before his escort kill the bombers.

THIS, is the problem, since we are in a RP server.

Putting out all the guns of the bombers will not stop them to pwnzor the capitals before get destroyed by a VHF or two.

We need to fix that principal problem before the rest.

True, but if we, let's say increase the projectile speed of battleship turrets, what's stopping the lolcaps from pwning everything that moves?
Another idea I had in mind was to make bombers have lower class guns, and increase the speed of higher class guns, so that fighters have an advantage in combat, but I still think the original idea is better.

It;s fair enough. Let me show you what happens when you nerf bombers.


Ok, we nerfed bombers. Then you suddenly find they are weak against their intended targets, caps, so people spam GBs to kill the people who have gone to VHFs because bombers now suck, and completely kill them, so those (VHF) people then turn to battleships to fight the GBs, so then the GBs turn to battleships to kill the battleships because bombers now suck.

You can't nerf bombers.

The problem with Disco is, players with high skill congregate towards bombers, and lower skill players towards VHFs. The problem isn't with the balancing, it's with the pilots. You all rely on experiences that do not have even numbers on both sides, or evenly skills pilots, or you 'heard it from somebody' who was there.

Fighters don't need a buff because useless pilots tend to congregate toward them in mixed fights. The fact is, in fleet battles, people who are 'ace' pilots will be told or fly bombers by their own will because they are better suited to a main task in fleet battles.
