' Wrote:No Fire Zones are not so utterly essential that there can't be any negotiations about them at all. Put it this way: If all the major Houses demanded that the Zoners relax NFZ rules for them, would the Zoners be able to say no? Probably not.
Point taken but how much "relaxing" of the rules would they need to be happy? I know the houses don't care about Zoner facilities but we do have personnel on board as well as guests and sometime dignitaries. The NFZ is there for those reasons. So I ask again, what relaxing of the rules would be acceptable yet palatable for Zoners as well? If the demand is withing reason, THAT is what we would offer.
Apparently I'm racist against a fictitious organisation. Hilarious.
*shrug*

Apparently indeed. Anyways, I'm just saying that your adamant opposition, self proclaimed hatred of Zoners, and unyielding opinions no matter how reasonable the counter argument, all besides your constant chiding of Mal during his departure, has put you in a quite negative position in my eyes. Not a good place for a faction leader (?) to be, no matter how many people see him that way.
Blunt Wrote:I thought that the oldest Zoner faction, the TAZ, were utterly opposed to the imposition of order, actually. Zoners are a bunch of anarchists (miscreants to some, perhaps) who live in the middle of nowhere amidst chaos. That is what they are, correct. They protect themselves by making themselves useful, not by making laws. I was pretty sure that enforced order is the sort of ideology that made the Zoners abandon civilised space.
Mm, that may be the way the TAZ see it, but the TAZ do not embody the Zoners as a whole. Not to mention the fact that a lot of them (TAZ) were the founders of the CoZ, and thus some of the initial creators of the NFZ. There's a difference between a forced imposition of order, and common sense and safety. Namely the desire to have really big guns as far away from yourself and your home as possible. In short, that is what we were, not what we have become.

I felt it was, because like the US as a whole having a negative foreign outlook during Bush's presidency, so too do factions and their leaders.

Zoners start a thread (maybe one for each Freeport?) "NFZ Abusers"
If someone is using a FP as a base to launch raids from, or a "safe zone" to hide in after piracy, he gets reported there.
Post 1 by lawful pilot : "Pirate X is using FP 1 as a base to raid Cambridge. Here are screenys"
Post 2 by TAZ/COZ "Ok, go nuts, he is no longer protected at the Freeport"
Since few Zoners seem to have noticed your suggestion, I'll make aware the masses. We'll see what happens.
Piz-eace out.
-Edit- @dieter, we do have an NFZ violations thread, at which location people post evidence and we deem them unhealthy for existence, but I do see the differences between your suggestion and that. I'll still run it by the Council to bring public attention.
-Double Edit- CoZ post made. We'll see how it works out.

Apparently irony is wasted on some people.
I find it very hard to hate people that don't exist. I'm trying, but I just can't do it. Sorry.
And Mal deserved it.
Oh, in order to accept some watered down version of what we wanted, we'd need lots of money to keep us quiet. Compromise and all that, you know.
Remember too, everyone, that I'm pretty sure no one likes people fighting outside their base. Zoners just take it so seriously that it starts to impact on other people. There's no indication that other bases don't have 'no fire zones,' but no one else gets upset by people fighting outside them, as long as they don't dock. I don't quite get the idea that breaking the NFZ destroys Zoners as a faction.
Also Magoo, Mal said some really horrible things to a bunch of really nice people, defending him is pretty insulting.
Why start another thread. Just as easy to report it there with everything else. We can easily rename it the Freeport violation reports. Having two threads just wastes space. Others have just stared their own thread in the Diplo forums to deal with a specific instance.

Be that as it may, defiling a witches grave doesn't serve any purpose aside from fueling the fires that were used to burn it. Two wrongs don't make a right. Its just as easy to ban him and forget as it is to ban him then lulwutverbalpwn him behind his back; the latter of which is rather pointless and makes said party look stupid, hence the given reason for a loss of respect. Clearly, if one is not willing to give respect to another by forgiving and forgetting, he is not worthy to receive it.
I also wont correct the definition of irony, despite the given example being completely out of the ball park, it would be entirely off topic.
