Ok, I have more information about systems. I we want to purchase a system, we will either a) have to send an expeditionary force into the Edge Worlds to find an empty one or b) have to make some kind of protection agreement with a neutral group, for example, IMG. Requesting feedback on this matter.

Well... no. I've learned that, to own a system we have to have some sort of allience with a neutral faction. Unfortunatly, we'd have to have their ID and everything... I don't think we'll be able to own a system.
However, we could have a Base of Operations. Not a system, nor an ownership, but just somewhere where we base our operations and fleet.

If we have to be aligned to a faction to buy a system, I really don't think that it is worth buying one of the unknown systems, since they are so remote, and hard to access. Especially for new recruits. However a base of operations in some central area with clan ships and arnaments is a fine idea.
