Is it the Titan still a good fighter!?

There is a reason everyone in vanilla uses Eagles.

In Freelancer, speed is more important than armour. All the VHF variants carry just about the same fire power but the Titan can't get in as many shots because the more agile ships fly rings around it.

Same thing applies to capitals vs single-seaters, too. No point in having eleventy billion armour if your opponent is basically free to whittle it away bit by bit because you can't hit them.

I doubt it somehow...

As slow as the titan is, the new bomber weapons are so slow they have a hard time hitting GBs.


@Eva; The titan has enough armour that should you use EK against an eagle, you can turn fast enough and blow it to bits in a joust.

You don't spam the cannonball... it's the high power hit, you need to make your shots count, fire when you know you can hit...rip off their thrusters and see if they can outmanuver the titan then.

Then again, I could use Sunslayers, but I like to keep my CD, it helps with those faster ships and traders.

In that case Fight achilles Eagle man he took out 1 Sabre My falcata and an Eagle Out alone. There are always exceptions out there. Ask him to fight MM~Dan.White once

I still use a Titan generally. I say generally because I do have a Praetorian which comes out every now and then.
Benitez rarely fight in anything bigger than a Praetorian.
Whilst the Centurion is rarely used, we also use Decurions and occasionally Legionaires.

Someone has to keep the faith!

I ask myself if the Corsairs dont like their own ship, they appear to use all kinds of fighters, except the Titan.., I ask myself why??

Don't really know where have you been, but lately most Corsairs fly just about only Titans.
On the other hand Alpha has more Eagles than any other area in sirius.

I used the titan in the sp game and loved it but with every one running around in gunboats and bigger ... It just doesnt hold up any more

Titans are great as long as you're smart about EKing and using your superior durability and tiny forward profile to your advantage. If you fly it like an Eagle you will be terrible.

I sold it, for some reason I couldnt fly well with it in group fights, especially when you fight faster VHFs than you most of the time, its a pain. Though in duels it totally owns. Its only weakness in duels are indeed the wings, they catch most of the mines/missiles thrown at you. CD Titans are scary in duels.

Into group fights I always take Gladiator or my new Decurion though :)
