I had the idea to mod Coronado and put a IMG base in it, a refinery that produces H Fuel and with a high demand for deuterium. The base was to be reached through navigation buoys. In the other side (upper part of the map) I was to put a asteroid camp as a minerable zone.
But now I read that Exile is going to do that system and I found his ideas interesting, although I dont agree with a dust field like the one of Omicron Delta. I prefer a ice cloud like the one on California that combines more with the Barrier. Also I dont agree with large train in New Kobol, better to put a X-Shuttle that is a research ship and combines more with the "colonial spirit".
I would ask Igiss before putting a BStar II base in there.. I think he wants the nomad one to be unique. And remember, its Freelancer, not BattleLancer Galactica..
Also, you should use fields found in that system's area. Coronado is a Liberty system I think, meaning it would not have lava fields. Those are in Rheinland. Liberty has Debris, silver, ice (only in systems near barrier) and a few other types. Bretonia has smog, gold, and a few ice (only around barrier), and then the Omegas are lava, Omicrons, alien organisms and artifacts, Taus are ice, and Sigmas are just unlootable gas clouds.
Well, this was merely a sketch, a suggestion, it has been posted mostly for the more experienced members to evaluate it and point out, what's wrong.
The california-like ice field would indeed be something better, after all, it's supposedly Liberty territory (I wonder if Quebeck is too:angry:).I wanted the smaller rocks since they don't hinder big ships' traffic much. Well, the battlestar wreck is something optional...If not the II, maybe putting a "stationized" BS advanced would be a better idea?
We've taken a somewhat similar thought as for deuterium, the station in Tau 29 buys it and is not very far away. It would make a new, profitable trade route.
What NPC faction is BSG affiliated with? why did this problem arise actually?
I've got Exile's PM with the suggestion. Was impressed. Especially with a mineable field of diamonds (not too far from New Tokyo, that is) and wrecks with Archangel and Diamondback. No offense:)
Well, the faction alignment problem did arise and it turned out, that the zoners were the best option. ( I know, we're using RM tags and pure military IDs). We thought of the system being somewhat similar to omega 49. The zoners as a faction would retain their leading deuterium export position. The diamond field was my idea. I admit, that the choice was done mostly due to the near NT. And since most probably, the mining improvement, mentioned before in another thread is going to be introduced shortly (isn't it?). As for the wrecks...If the viper can be made as a wreck is the first problem. Second, indeed, putting two very god codenames on them migh be too much (note, that there are 4 in sigma 13, we got the big ship wreck+fighter wrecks concept right from there). If coronado is considered a core Liberty system, which can be used only by Liberty, fine, we can look for something else. But why didn't this arise earlier? we've been trying for 6 months now and nobody had objections regarding the system's selection untill now.
