With 4.85 Update 1, server has been retooled to use Discovery standard rule set. Server is role playing, PvP (with standard Discovery restrictions). Starting players are neutral to all factions. 50,000 starting credits.
Existing players will be given two weeks grace to get their ships in compliance with standard Discovery rules (proper IDs, ships in proper systems, etc). Will reset existing user factions to all neutral. Send in game /pm to F7-Xevious and I'll process your request as soon as I am able.
Server is still a family community with children, so cursing, and inapproriate topics are forbidden. No cheating, begging, cursing, and inappropriate chat or names. Rule breakers are banned.

1. That was tried in New York here. It ended very poorly, in a mess of OORP nonsense. Why is PVP disabled there, anyway? If you're using our rules, like you say you are, then newbies would be protected by the Civilian ID while under level 30.

2. What about Nomads and guard factions?
1. Mostly to curb people from logging in... causing havoc with a starter ship, and logging out (low population server at the moment and I didn't want random people griefing the few players that were in the starting zone. I have now removed the PvP restriction and we'll see how it goes.
2. All neutral including nomad and guard factions. Have some experience with those you'ld like to share? I'm open on the topic.

Well, the entire point of guard factions starting hostile was to keep people from:
Powertrading through guard systems (which, in-RP, are almost always supposed to be highly-restricted areas)
Slow down battleship acquisition; not as important with guard IDs now, but you might end up having people getting Liberty Dreads for KNF characters or other ridiculous things like that. It's a lot easier to lose normal faction rep than guard rep.
As for nomads... do you want everyone running around in Nomad Battleships halfassing the already-difficult Nomad RP and using it as an excuse to blow everyone up? Because with what I've seen lately on the main server from various idiot caps in basically every faction, it'll almost definitely happen.
My account was banned for cheating when I brought 225 helium on pens from mining in rhino.I have not used anything I even talked to you on my other char.
Banned account and character was -Prometheus-
Yup... tuning the server side codes. I don't have discovery specific config files for cheater's death yet... (it's mishandling new weapon types and ranges, in particular).
