I'm just happy there are actually miners to pirate.. I was tired of just transports silently running around.

The huge profits is a nice bonus too. >.>

hm trader ID should allow Gunboats now, to missilespam the bombers away:P

Nope, traders ID should hire good escorts with all of the money they are making.

Alternatively pirates should enjoy taking away all of the traders stuff.

The upper limit of a reasonable demand for credits should be around 1/3 the cargo's value, i.e. 60 mil argo = 20 mil, 10 mil cargo = 2 mil.

Should a pirate choose to demand cargo, I guess they could reasonably demand the lot.

However, I would encourage pirates not to take the lot if the trader has even some RP...it's about having fun not the pretend money.

Both the pirate and the trader should have this very wise and very true statement in mind.

It's not because the trader carries 5 k of Ore that he has that 20 million you ask him. Maybe it's his first run or soemthing.

I want to get off Mr. Igiss' wild ride.

He can gladly give up 1700 cargo then.
Besides whenver someone doesn't stop after a CD, but continues on impulse saying how he has got no money I tend to blast him away.
Its like you have a frikkin gypsy that just wanted to get away with something and is all smug, but starts to cry second you catch him.

Eh, ignore me, i just watched third watch and Davis got shot. >:(

But what about bombers, when they pirate you? ''Drop 1700 units of ore!''

Seriously?

if i see someone with a full load of ore, then i'll pirate them for as much as i can, which will most likely work out to be about 10-15 million for a 5k full of ore.

And heaven help you if I'm in my ptrans...

well - if i pirate someone, i try not to be spiteful - but to act within RP.

for my pirate... - half a million is a fortune, - if i ever "pirated" 10 million, i wouldn t be a pirate anymore after this incident - i d buy me a mansion on a private isle on cortez - along with a full staff and luxory to the end of my life.

however - as a gaian, i would ask someone that has mined in leeds and exploited the fields there to drop it all - and shoot it himself.

mind you, i never saw anyone with such valuable cargo anyway. - piracy and being payed is a "gesture" for me. - asking for 10 million is not a gesture anymore, its a pain - and its no fun at all for the trader, no matter if he makes 60 million upon turning his stuff in.

piracy is easy and a quick job. - filling up a full cargohold with mined goods is a time consuming work. - i wouldn t feel "good" for asking such a person to drop it all.

I pirated third from a guy few days ago, 1000 niobium ore.
sold it to junker for 8mil, he sold it on for 14

I pirated another one, aka i blew him up and got 3k niobium because he refused to give third of it.
Then i sold it to a guy for 35 mil.
Then I did a fly-by on your Kishiro Mafic and stole all your ore:DThe mining system is running fine. Some 5k transports when full of certain ores will be making up to 85 million credits in solid profit. That more than justifies a 10-20 million piracy demand to me.

Tell that to Harvester 74. His RP was terrible. I try RP and it's met with "re-booting" or insults and for no real RP reason, "IT" takes what little it can carry and blows the rest up in space. I would have made 11 million for that. That's a heavy price to pay in a Borderworlds transport.

If a pirate is reasonable, they'll never have trouble from me. If their RP is good, they may get more than they ask for.
