It's way better than the flying turd called the Atlantis-class, but I'm turned off by the fact the engine is so high up (makes it look like a water-based naval ship) and the fact the texture on the launch bay looks like the exporter ****ed up and mixed everything together.

But if those things were fixed (along with maybe some more details on the textures) I'd definitely say it's a replacement.

Retired, permanently.

Just, wrong in so many ways for me.

Still an improvement though.

//After 12 failed attempts, from the distant concept carrier of the Washington class, to the actual Atlantis class in game... here's finally... the result. Hope you people like it.

5126 polycount and a thousand fold smaller texture file.

I think every thing but the middle of the ship looks great. the middle just reminds me of the air craft carriers of today, but its a better desgin then the Liberty Assault Carrier people use now. But still being able to do this stuff is a great feat, cos i for sure could not do it;)

Well, I can't texture and I can't model, so it's just Yue's model put ingame. If I feel up to it, or get a chance to breath in the next few days I might attempt to retexture it.

Of course, I won't even submit it until Yue comes and gives the go ahead.

the model is good - the skin is applied in a very low resolution.

even from quite a long distance ( turret view ) - on some of the lines, one can even see the pixels from the skinmap.

an easy way to improve it might be to darken the whole thing - not to the almost black of the current carrier, but just by some 30%. - the whole ship looks a bit pale anyway - this paleness also suggests a rather "flat" model - or cartoonish ship ( high contrast of skin and black lines )

all in all - the ship has sufficient details "modelled", but insufficient detailed "skinned". - while sleek ships work that way - this ship does not.

( as an example, the zoner gunboat skin is rather low detailed - but the whole ship sugguests to be build out of mostly seamless materials and parts.... this carrier however has plenty of "buildings" on top of it that could all need a lot more skin detail - or they re just "boxes" )

It's currently astronomically better than the Atlantis.
In my very humble opinion.

Reskin or not, it should be added to the next update. I'm not entirely sure what it hasn't yet.
I'm not backreading, so feel free to slap me upside the head with months old quotes.

This should be added.
Preferably with a better texture.

But even as it currently is, it's better than the Atlantis.

There is no 'she', and the current Carrier looks like crap. And the one in this thread.. well, the model may look good from the front, however you can see some issues on the engine section, it almost looks like it's made of paper, and the arch section is ugly indeed. Also, the texture job is dreadful, it doesn't give any kind of depth to the vessel, being too bright and highly pixelated in most areas - giving it a cartoonish look.

But hey, I'm not blaming Xing for trying, I'm just criticizing the look of the ship.

So yeah, I don't find the Atlantis nor the Apollo as 'decent models'.

Teschy, this Ship is still in progress and actually this one looks better than the old one. Even now at this state.

Yue is still working on it, I hope so.

Somehow you are the only one being so rude against this Apollo.
