Personally I think this thread has run its course, and should be locked, although it does fullfill a purpose as a place for us to vent.

I also realize that if this thread is locked, another 5 or 10 similar threads probably will spring up.

I do have a perfect solution for that though : Any one who starts such a thread outside of Flood, should have ALL his characters turned into starfleas and Beamed to Planet Xema in Iota, with a max enemy rep on the Nomad Guard and Nomad factions.

Regarding motives discussion: Before anyone starts trawling through old sanction reports, note that the hacker might have a grudge against the concept of roleplay in general. (There exist bigots in this world, folks.) As such, his target might not necessarily be the Discovery community specifically, but rather we may just be a focal point for his antics.

Hitler killed very few people himself. Most of the people who were killed by Hitler's Nazis (i.e., the jews) were not killed for 'fun', but rather as an excuse - Hitler used them as a scapegoat, saying that all of germany's problems were their fault. It was nothing more than a tactic to get the country supporting him, and to start up the war machine.

I myself was refraining from posting here, but I feel the need to now.

I can understand all your frustration as the server is not available, I too play infrequently and when i tried to get connected, no sever, so yeah I'm mad too. That's no excuse to spam this thread though, it's in the announcement section and others are monitoring this thread for meaningful updates and information and NOT for your +1 posts.
There are 400+ posts here and only a handful of updates.

Hope an admin locks this thread, creates another Pinned topic in Bold caption if possible and update with relevant info only. Create a parallel thread for questions/suggestions regarding new server etc...

May I request a moderator to action please....
