how do you make a ship trade auto with trade extensions, the best I have been able to do is buy best and sell best. I would love for them to work on their own.
I'm pretty sure when you go into "Property" and access your other ships' commands, there'll be the usual commands of "Follow target" "Follow me" "Attack" "Go to" whatever, there should be commands on "Trade in sector" or something of that nature.
You don't need trader scripts. Get sector and Universe traders.
Don't know if they were added into X3 but they are deffinatly in X3TC. They automaticly trade best buys and sells for you so you never have to trade again.
If it would just ignore the 5'th axis there won't be a problem. However. The moment I pushed the joystick button to go from 4 axis to 5 axis, it begin using the slider (which slides left-right and goes back to the middle if you let go of it as part of the joystick design) for ship speed rather then the throttle. And I found this change to be permanent.
In other words, I am stuck moving at middle speed constantly whenever I try to use my joystick. Which does not work well.
Already played that game out though, not really getting anywhere. I'm not returning to X3 anytime soon.
I've always been a fan of X3 Reunion aswell as X3 TC. Brilliant games, i can't say i ever had any problems with the trading system either. My little traders always found thiere way. You need to have all the right upgrades though if i remember correctly. I always found it best not to have your enemies set to be the same for them as it is for you, or the little buggers just go trying to attack everything thats red to them. It's also a good idea to have a battle ready ship with enough energy cells and a jump drive, ready to jump to your traders position in a minutes notice if it gets attacked. Otherwise you go through transports like you go through energy cells. I learned this the hard way.
Complex hubs are good fun. But eventually i stopped using them and just started having a couple of traders going back and forth to my station with the products. Most of the time if you use a complex hub anyway, there's always one of your stations that can't keep up with production anyway, so it halts till it gets it's materials.
Great games, so much to do in them. But why they never created a multiplayer enevironment i don't know.
If you want to set up a decent Sector Trader, buy the following upgrades from the TerraCorp HQ in Home of Light:
Trade Command Software I, II, II
Fight Command Software I, II
Special Command Software
When you have all of those upgrades installed on a transport, move it into a sector of your choice. From the Trade section in the command menu, select "Start Sector Trader" and let it go on its merry way.
The trader will 'hire' a pilot who will then proceed to trade for you automatically within the confines of the selected sector. The more profit the trader makes, the more it will increase in rank; generally, a higher rank means a more competent trader. The best sector to quickly raise the rank of your trader is Empire's Edge in Paranid space. It has the best balance of solar power plants, food plants, and tech plants to keep it busy.
When your trader hits rank 10 you have the option of switching it over to a Universe Trader. To do this you need to buy it a Jump Drive from a Goner Temple (there should be one in Home of Light). Once you have this installed, activate the Universe Trader command in the Trade menu. From this point on, your trader will utilize all explored sectors to trade; higher levels will again increase competency. Your trader will eventually buy a dozen fighter drones for defense, and use its jump drive to escape enemy attacks. Never the less, I would recommend getting the best shields for your trader ASAP; they're an investment and it'd be a shame to lose one because of a pirate ambush.
Personally, I'm a fan of the Paranid Demeter. It has the perfect balance between speed, defense, and cargo space. If you want to try and maximize the amount of trade runs possible, buy a Split Caiman. After Engine upgrades, it's the fastest TS available.
Maybe some day, they'll see a hero is just a man who knowshe's free.
Been there done that. I've completed X3 Xtended.
I have the 2 M0 battleships.
All sorts of race ships. The Carriers, dessies, m6's, m7's, m8's. (Even all pirate Cap ships)
And guess what, I even have the ("unknown M6") that fires massive pew pew guns!
I forget the race name. I've got myself a HCF. With that. I've collected loads of Ka'hak T-Destroyers. and M6's. Now that is hard. (That Unknown M6 ship, It almost took down both of my M0's together!)
It was really hard to keep the ships hull from my PPC's.
I beamed all my ships into ka'hak sectors and wiped them out!
And yet. I Still have over 1 Billion Cr's.
You want to know a secret? ;)
You can get a mission that keeps spawning every 2 hours. Where you can get
40,000,000 Mill for the mission. (Xenon Core Missions)
(Spoiler)= You get the missions at PTNI-HQ.
Keep doing this. And you wont need to trade ever again!
I am a really good X2 player, i am just getting started on X3. Decided to get reunion to pass the time. Anyways Been playing for a few hours on Easy to start with. Already got myself a wheat farm in a boron sector.
Trade command Software MK III is good yes i have my trader assigned to my wheat farm equipped with one.
i did the same, got gold edition which is both X3's, but i hate the HUD on reunion so have only been playing Terran conflict.
i love the scales on it... screw fighting, trading, building and thinking, i just want to fly M5's round station scaffolding and around carrier bridges.
I've got X3:Reunion I but I still haven't played it yet, I played the demo once though.
Because I've still been playing X2.
But I think I'll give X3 a go.
