EDIT : GO THROUGH MY MOST RECENT POST ON NEXT PAGE TO SEE PICS OF THE UPDATED MODEL. I HAVE UPDATED THE MODEL TO MAKE IT LOOK MORE COOL AND PHANTOM-LIKE
Hi guys, I have made another humble attempt to design a gunboat for the phantoms. If the Wild can have a gunboat, I believe that the phantoms should also have one. I am still amateur at modelling, so please spare any flaws you may find in the model.
SHIP INFO
Phantom 'Merihim' gunboat
With the houses and even the pirates like Corsairs and Outcasts regularly upgrading their ship-building technologies, the phantoms knew that to carry on their sinful practices, they need to come up with a counter-force very quickly. The result is the Merihim. Designed keeping in mind the limited resources of the phantoms, the Merihim is an agile and cunning ship which the phantoms use both to defend their sacred temples and to spread terror and chaos in the name of their Dark Gods.
Hull strength : 94000
Power Output : 500
Gunboat Turrets : 7 (6 forward, 1 backward)
Cargo hold : 400
Additional equipment : CD, CM
I like this concept. The only thing that I might suggest is sweeping the wings back a bit more and making it more compact. But, that's just the way I like things to look.
[8:32:45 PM] Dusty Lens: Oh no, let me get that. Hello? Oh it's my grandma. She says to be roleplay.
[12:49:19 AM] Elgatodiablo: You know its nice that you have all that proof and all, Bacon... but I just don't believe you.
Looks like a rather nice 'Phantom-esque' model, although, I suggest the texture gets changed so we can see all the detail of the model better, its hard for me to pick it all out here.
Also, what is with the massive circle ports on the nose? Are those weapon slots or aesthetic?
EDIT: Can we get a comparison with another similar class vessel?
Since most of you guys have requested to post the model pics without the textures.....hence I am uploading images of the ship without the textures. Once again your feedback is welcome.
the main body of the ship might still be too simple. - you have made use of mostly basic shapes it appears. ( stretched spheres )
the wings, while sufficiently detailed, are just "plugged into" the main body - but they don t appear to be really connected to it. - a little like a simple woodcut plane that you build out of 3 pieces ( one centerpiece with 2 slits, where you place one larger woodcut into it as the wings and another smaller one as the tailfin )
about the size
the canopy suggests that its rather small. - many gunboats have a bridge rather than a canopy. - the difference isn t really terribly great - but its a little difference. - if this canopy was the size of - lets say - the sabres canopy, the whole "gunboat" wouldn t be much larger than a VHF. ( larger still, but not much )
as a whole, the concept is OK. - what it does not do however is transport the feeling of being "alien" or "strange but technically ahead". - if painted green, it may also be a rheinland custom job.
