Quote: the BPA tried to launch a full scale attack against Gaian installations in Edinburgh. Islay base was well protected because Peace agents inside BPA told them about their plans. The BPA forces in Edinburgh were finished in less then 3 hours and the Peace Organization managed to get their heavy vessels out of there in one piece and prepared a devastating counter-attack on Glasgow Station and Stokes Mining Station. The two simultaneous attacks destroyed the stations defensive systems but failed to take over any of the bases.

BPA's red-shirt syndrome strikes again!
Also, a massive, and deadly attack on Stokes and glasgow would have been noticed by the vast majority of the Brets. Replacing a massive hit on Islay with a massive hit on both stokes and glasgow? I'd wager that the reasoning behind the attack on islay being removed could, just possibly, apply here?

' Wrote:I have a question regarding this part:

This was the new beginning of the Peace Organization. Dizzy continued her bloody attacks on any corporation in Bretonia. The agents were ordered not to take any prisoners. After several attacks against Orbital Spa and Cruise, the BPA launched a full scale attack against Gaian installations in Edinburgh. Islay base wasnt protected at that time and the BPA massacred the base population. The Gaians power in Edinburgh was finished but the Peace Organization managed to get their heavy vessels out of there in time and prepared a devastating counter-attack on Glasgow Station and Stokes Mining Station. The two simultaneous attacks destroyed the stations defensive systems but failed to take over any of the bases.

Specifically, how could there have been a population lowering BPA lead massacre on Islay only a year ago & no one living on Islay learned about it till now? did the other Gaians, the BPA & I all miss the sweeping history-changing memo y'all sent out or something?

There was never any massacre on Islay in 816, so that part has to go because you wouldn't dream of metagaming other peoples characters, right?

' Wrote:In 816, the BAF used its own agents and tried to infiltrate the organization. They managed to find out who the leader was and assassinated him. After this event, the Peace Organization was almost disbanded but the help came from an unexpected person: Dizzy Flores Lovin, Nicholas sister. She somehow managed to restructure the organization and make it work again. The BAF agents were still there and they tried to kill her too but failed. Their corpses were filled with explosives and placed outside the Royal Palace with the following message on their chests: This is what you did to the environment, this is what you will become when we get to you. The explosives were detonated when the palace guards tried to move the corpses. The attack has resulted in four victims.

Both the new and old stories are quite disturbing to me. As the leader of the BPA, I highly disapprove. The BPA has always had a great leniency to the Gaian movement. Only in the face of direct attacks or eye witnesses have we ever opened fire. Of all the criminals of Bretonia, the Gaians are really the least likely to ever be massacred. Of my Gaian Encounters, I have ended up defending an OP&C ship and firing once, taking a formal complaint from a Gaian and launching an investigation of Shetland once, and arresting one once for the disruption of smooth trade once. Even in vanilla, the BPA wouldn't ever go and massacre anyone. We knew where Islay was but we just kind of ignored any Gaians who weren't attacking things. There is no way we would even plan something like that.

Furthermore, the BPA would never massacre anyone. Ever. It's simply not how the BPA operates. We are police, and, not only that, but we are the most peaceful and lenient of the Police. We have a very large bureaucracy, yes, and this often makes people think we are harsh, but we are not. It is a policy to fly a weaponless fighter when you join as to not risk a loose-cannon harming people. It is our purpose to preserve human life first and foremost in conjunction with the laws of Bretonia. There is no way the BPA would ever plan a massacre of Gaians. It just doesn't work like that.

Even furthermore, the Gaians aren't very high on the list of priorities for Bretonia. They're really the smallest fish in the barrel now. Pirates coming from Magellan are really more of a priority, mainly because they are pure pirates and are, well, more of a threat to shipping. The Gaians aren't that big of a threat outside of their predictable attack paths (Birmingham; LD-14; Edinburgh Jump Gate; Perth; Shetland;Canterbury)

Also, you think you can get near the Royal Palace carrying corpses or large bags like that? That's silly. Really, it is. You can't loiter or throw things near the fence at the palace today, what makes you think it'll become less restricted when a Constitutional Monarchy is reinstated? That was a nice thought and all, but, really, it needs some work to make is something called plausible.

' Wrote:In 814, the Bretonia Police Authority discovered this little, illegal business that Nicholas was running and sent a small fleet to arrest him. Thats when the Peace Organization revealed itself. With the help of it's Gaian friends, they rescued Nicholas and his sister. She was younger then him and was also working for BMM.

Fleet? Really? You're really just tooting your own horn, here, I think. Police don't send fleets. If we do, you and I have different ideas of fleets. If the BPA was ever to arrest any one person, a ship count greater than four Hussars/Paladins/Havoks is simply a dream. The BPA doesn't have fleets. The BAF does. The BAF is the muscle, we're the police. We don't do muscle. We do respect and politics. It's a little different from, say, Liberty.

To be very honest, I see very poorly justified terrorists here with a story that makes all their enemies seem completely incompetent and stupid. It doesn't really make you look good at all, it just makes us look stupid. It seems like there is no challenge to being awesome; you just happened to find the mentally challenged divisions of BPA, BAF, and palace guard.

Real challenge for you would be nice. For example:

Could easily be made plausible if you didn't put the corpses on the front lawn. It could more than easily make sense if you said:

Quote:In 816, the BAF attempted to investigate rumors that the Gaians were secretly assisting the Kusari government. An unexpected tip from Dizzy Flores Lovin, Nicholas' sister, cut the investigation short, though, as the Peace Organization captured the BAF officers with little hassle. The bodies of the officers were put away in an apartment complex not far from the Hub on New London, Planet. When investigating a complaint of rotting smell, the landlord of the apartment found the bodies within the ceiling of a four room apartment. Taped to each body was a note stating "This is what you did to the environment, this is what you will become when we get to you. The autopsy of the bodies proved to be disappointing, as none of the men could be identified before an Oxygen-triggered chemical explosive hidden within the torsos of the victims tore the room asunder before DNA identification tests could be ran on the faceless, fingerless men. The surprising attack killed the mortician instantly and left the morgue damaged for several months.

Doesn't that sound more plausible than "We walked up and rang the doorbell, and the queen stepped right on the bag!"? I rather think it does, and it doesn't put any words in someone's mouth or put any actions in their hands. As it is, the story really does just make you sound like horribly-justified Mon'Star wannabes who ran into the Constables-that-could. It could certainly use a lot of work.

I can understand what you're trying to do, though. I'll give you a very large tip: being scary isn't about big numbers. It isn't about being tough. It's about doing things that are unexpected and legitimately startling. It's about the tone, it's about the suspense, it's about the challenge. Anyone can see boom coming in a Michael Bay movie. You don't want to be Michael Bay. Do things that no one would expect. Do small things, but scary things. This is how terrorism works. You don't actually have to hurt multitudes of people; you just have to threaten to hurt people and prove you can do it to a small audience.

I see Jamie covered this already, but you might be kindly disposed towards the Buccaneers, that doesn't mean we are kindly disposed towards you lot. The fact that you're carrying a Gaian ID and IFF means we won't pirate you (unless you make a nuisance of yourselves), but don't expect us to help you out of a fix, or to be very polite to you....

That having been said, though, you've got an interesting idea, and I look forward to seeing how it works out.
