Shocking events in Tau-23

Yesterday, after a bitter engagement against Outcasts from cali base, IMG has requested assistance of their new allies, the Colonials. Having lost the fight and several fighters and transports, the IMG had to withdraw under the protective fire from Java base. This would not be out of the ordinary, since such engagements repeat themselves on a regualr basis. This time however the IMG mounted a successful, retaliatory operation agaist Cali base. Untill now, It remained unknown, what exactly happened, since the IMG and colonials refused to comment the event.

-Onboard the Colonial Battlestar Nemesis, our correspondent has recorded the battle, however due to military security reasons could not transmit it live.

Action report, operation "radCast", phase one

-Sir, more and more miners are reporting outcast encounters in tau-23, its's obviously more than usual. IMG say they have suffered heavy losses

-Seems like the outcasts got tired with IMG here...
Well, we are tired of the outcasts, killing our people, raiding Java and destroying our transports.
I've really had enough of it. They are attacking both from their home as well as Cali... Time to hit back. I want all availible ship commanders in the CiC in an hour, till then, let's make up a plan.

The greatest threat and a thorn in our back is Cali. We can hold the outcasts from Alpha, but not from both there and tau-23. We'll do as follows. 2 ships go into Tau-23 and deal with Cali, so that it couldn't be used again any time soon. I wil go there myself and make sure this objectve has been met. The Cruiser Vindicator will serve as escort and support.
(time has passed and Nemesis and Vindicator arrived in Tau-23)

As you could see, the base has been disabled for a long period, with this, the Outcasts no longer have a safe harbor in the region and there is no longer a way of supplying their allies with cardamine. How will this influence the course of the Kusari-Bretonia war remains still unknown.

-Well, did anyone ask the Outcasts, how many miners were killed? In contrast to what you may suspect, the Outcast casualties have been minimized. -5 marines suffered injuries durng the landing, they are being treated as we speak. Doctors say, there state is satbile and improving despite relatively heavy wounds.

-Conventional weapons could not do signifaicant damage to the installation due to the geological structure of the astroid. One weapon has been launced and it crippled the base's life-support systems and airlocks. In short, left the base inoperable for a prolonged period.

-Is an operation in Omicraon Alpha planned too?

-Not just yet, however if provoked, we will not hesitate to do the same with Malta.
