Thanks for clarifying that Blubba... that was the point I was trying to make.

It might be that the Corsairs will not view the Zoners as neutral if they permit their enemies a safe haven.

In truth, the thing that will make the difference is how you use the Freeport. So in that regard you might want to rethink the use of the Freeport entirely, or at least be careful in the way in which you use it.

I like the idea of the Hispanians but I'm not sure how much peace and love you will get out of the Corsairs if you are believed to be using the Freeport to attack Corsairs.

You have stated that the Hispanians want to reach out to Corsairs... A group of renegade Outcasts are still Outcasts from a Corsair perspective. Seeing enemies using bases so close to their home is not going to gain much trust from any Corsairs, and in theory I'd have expected your efforts to be more along the lines of trying to gain the trust of the Corsairs as opposed to appearing to threaten them?

As I say it will depend very much on how you use the base...

Jose

Also, the Zoners are so fractured and infighting right now that I honestly do not know who to contact.

All the same, thank you for your feedback.

I think you may have contacted me in-game regarding this before.

If you use any Freeport as a base of operations, you will be banished by the Zoners.
You can use Freeports to resupply, but you have to RP some battleship as your actual base.

' Wrote:Well, about the possible re-unification of the Corsairs and Outcasts into a stronger house, like in the old times... maybe you will have more support than expected, Hispania is a dream, a leyend for both sides.
Hm... well, time will tell. Though if we get enough support, it might make us seem all the more dangerous to the current regimes, causing them to hunt us all the more.

' Wrote:It might well be a Freeport with all that that implies, but the last time I checked, it set off a war in the Omegas/Omicrons and the Freeports were anything but 'neutral'. In fact, it was viewed very much as being a breach of Zoner neutrality and things got very uncomfortable for all parties. There were 'no go' areas for Zoners. The very people who run the stations.
I would be very surprised if the corsairs will standby and watch their enemies mass fleets against them on a base right outside their home system, again.

Incidentally, you don't need to ask the Zoner in charge. You can ask any of them who have been around long enough.
But hey, things change. Maybe the corsairs won't mind after all.
I think you are not understanding what the term "Freeport" means. A freeport is just that-- a free port for anyone to dock at (anyone who hasn't broken Zoner rules to the most grievous extent possible, that is). It doesn't matter if you're a Xeno or a Hessian or an Outcast or a Corsair, unless Zoners have started to pick sides, which is exactly what the Zoners are all about not doing.

The Zoners have always allowed safe haven to anyone who docks there (only exception I know of is in Bethlehem, in the middle of House space, rather than a border, edge, or independent system). That includes two people who might hate each other (in-game rumors state that Outcasts and Corsairs will occasionally drink together at one of the Freeports, I suspect it would be the one in Theta).

' Wrote:In truth, the thing that will make the difference is how you use the Freeport. So in that regard you might want to rethink the use of the Freeport entirely, or at least be careful in the way in which you use it.
We will be careful how we use any Freeport, just as we are careful how we use Yanagi.

We won't be using the Freeport to attack the Corsairs. At absolute worst, we might spew propaganda out of the No-Fire-Zone (unless the Zoners tell us to cut it out, in which case we'll go like, 20k above the plane instead), and use the Freeport to get goods and equipment from.

I intend to use it very carefully. We don't launch attacks out of Freeports, and we especially do not violate the NFZ.

Well, in-RP, we have no battleship, but we do have a few hastily-constructed stations and a hollowed out asteroid base. We will only be using Freeports to resupply, and possibly meet with whatever individuals might be interested in meeting us.

First of all:

I like the idea of this faction. I would like it more if the Corsairs and Outcasts "dissidents" would be in one faction together. Imagine that, it would be awesome. You are thinking about two factions claiming that Outcast and Corsairs together are good idea. But I'm sure, you know how hard is to make one faction. But you are thinking about two. I think idea of OC and Sairs players in faction is more interesting for roleplay.

If you change your mind I have Corsair GB (or I can make new char) which I would like to use for this idea.

To that Freeport case. I understand what they wanted to say. Yes it's true that Zoners build their station at idea of Free port, station which are open to criminals as well as for lawfulls. But they are in very very friendly alliance with Corsairs. Corsairs have money, Freeports have food. Now image that bunch of Outcast "dissidents" come to your Freeport and they say something like: "We are for idea of one Hispanian nation and we want to start our propaganda from this base" As commander of that station you must choose between

a) You won't let them to stay there, but then it's not Free-port
b) You will let them to stay there, but then you let potentional enemies of Corsair nation (because Corsair goverment will say that) stay deep in their territory. Then you can expect very big problems from Corsairs goverment.

What will you choose?

PS: Sorry for my english. I just hope it's understandable.

I won't be running two factions. There's another faction that might be taking the place of the Esperansas of this write-up.

We only have one Gunboat at the moment, and I don't think we have the resources to take on a second. Thanks though.

Well, if it really causes issues there, then they can tell us to STFU. We won't be 'staying' there, or launching raids out of it, or doing anything else that violates Freeport neutrality. Of course, we expect the Zoners themselves to not violate Freeport neutrality as well.
