[font=Arial][color=#99FFFF]You're giving quite an odd message here Dab.... TAZ, ZTC and OSI are official factions and formed The Zoner Alliance which is - by virtue of the official Zoner factions partaking in it, and the acceptance received by other factions in Sirius - considered the governing body for the Zoners by many.
Of course we all can shout about eachothers use of generalisations and statements we cannot possibly proof...

Whoever is considered the governing body of Zoners at the time would make that decision, as right now there is no governing body until the current situation is dealt with.<snip>
This is you making a claim for all Zoners...

This is me doing it for all of Sirius...
Therefore...

And please, as two other Zoners have already said to you, for the third time; Stop talking for everyone. You are one person, not 'most' Zoners.
The real question here is:
[color=#FFFFCC]Will unofficial groups like the CoZ be treated as official factions in regards to Faction Right #5?
Guys, go back to your Zoner commune and figure this crap out inrp. All this oorp fighting really really really makes all you Zoners look really really really petty.
That is, can official factions request a ship be made friendly to the npc faction in much the same way? There are situations I can imagine where they'd be stuck in a hostile state due to game mechanics despite two factions having no direct connections up until the RP that led to said request.
The Corsairs were having an arguement in this thread in October...
And the Zoners are having it now.
I actually agree with Dab on this. I think people are twisting the meaning of his words, which if you take the way they're meant to be taken, actually make sense. It doesn't matter how 'many' consider the Zoner Alliance or how few consider the Council of Zoners the governing body. It matters what the admins think. You are just the worshipping masses, not the gods. Right now, there is a civil war going on, albeit a peaceful one. Once one side is eliminated, the victor will probably gain the use of 'right 5'. But there are two organisations vying for power. The rule cannot be split, so its use is forfeit until there is only one.
Of course, you could DO THE SMART THING and instead of arguing, decide in your Zoner Alliance who to make red and then get the TAZ, ZTC or OSI to file a right 5 request as a faction.
You know, get around the restrictions imposed rather than moan about them.
You have to understand something, the changing of reps using faction right 5 is not a permanent change, they can easily go and bribe or whatever to get it back. Also mind you, you can only do this to a faction that is not effected by any rep ninja on the ID it's using. So in very simple terms, lets say a Corsair had the RP to be friendly with say, the Hessians. In this situation, the Admin would change the Corsair in questions rep to friendly, but because the Corsair ID is rep ninja'd hostile to the Hessians, as soon as the Corsair unlocked, his rep with the Hessians would return to it's normal hostile setting.

While that is very true, I was thinking of less polar opposite factions. For instance, the LWB and Bowex had some interesting RP encounters a few times, but a straightforward bribe could set the Bowex' rep all aflutter, but if it could be set without affecting others for some RP related reason, that would make things work a lot nicer. It's clearly not an everyday thing, but good to know some theoretical situations.

As long as they are not rep ninja'd I dont see why not.
Dab the fact that you even mention using a rep hack is more than enough proof that you have and intend to try to use it. Whether or not you came out and directly said it doesn't make a difference. You are smart enough to know that doing that would put yourselve in a bad posistion. You keep making claims that the Zoners as a whole will do something when you speak only for yourself. I've talked to most of the CoZ via PMs. You didn't ask them about the rep change before you requested it.
Admins: Is this or is this not a right of an offical faction? Can we expect unoffical factions to be able to use this in the future? Can we get a list of factions that are unoffical but are considered quasi offical so we know which ones have access to these rights? If a person has made themselves an enemy of an entire faction and is in need of a rep hack, wouldn't the offical groups request it? Why are unoffical groups being allowed to?
You can bitch about this being a Zoner issue all you want. The fact stands when this right was announced Corsairs also brought up this exact topic. Many players felt it would be abused. We now have proof that it can be abused if you know the right people and are in the right position to do so.
I twisted no ones words. Dab has in SKYPE a number of times threatened to have Saronsen's rep changed. The fact that Dab managed to get Jokers rep changed without a word to the offical Zoner faction leaders or without consent from the majority of the Council only shows it was done due to Dab's posistion. Any normal player would have been told no, to ask a offical faction to do it.
