You'll typically need to contact the military factions of the houses.
[LN] for Liberty
BAF| for Bretonia
[KNF] for Kusari
[RM] for Rheinland

(I think).

Most borderworld factions won't make a big fuss about neutral caps in their territory although some might not want you around their bases - notably the Junkers prefer a caps-away policy. Sairs and Casts usually don't want neutral caps sticking around Omicron Gamma and Alpha respectively, but they'll usually show you the door instead of pews.

Wide awake in a world that sleeps, enduring thoughts, enduring scenes. The knowledge of what is yet to come.
From a time when all seems lost, from a dead man to a world, without restraint, unafraid and free.

Thus, you shouldn't be using the Zoner ID.
You really have absolutely no idea what a Zoner is, do you?

As for the new guys, seems like you got caught by an irate rule-lawyer and an admin death message bug. Don't worry about it. They're just being a pain, and like most rule lawyers, didn't know the actual rules themselves anyway.

Maybe I can share some advice... I've played Discovery before, back in both 4.84 and 4.85, and I absolutely love what the mod does with the game. Each time I've come back, it's been with a completely new account, starting from scratch because I've been away so long.

One piece of advice, though, when you go into a system as a capital ship, or even a gunboat or fighter, you should send out a system wide message to let the owners of that system know that you're passing through. If your corporation/faction/etc doesn't own the system, it is always a good idea to extend that message into one asking for permission to pass through. In my experience, simply the act of asking is often enough to convince the police/military presence in the area that you're not a threat, and obtaining that permission is often vital to a safe passage, as most police/military that come across an unknown military craft in their system will challenge its presence there.

Please, for the love of all that is good about this game, learn to use Capital Letters, punctuation and possibly paragraphs.

It's not hard and will help generation-Xers like me actually read what you're saying.

Do not be afraid of a full stop. It won't hurt. A new line is okay. The enter key is your friend. Use of the shift key will not cause cancer.

This would be better written as:

I have a question for you. If, and I do mean if, I get a big ship again, who do I ask for permission to enter?

Alternatively;

I have a question for you: If (and I do mean if) I get a big ship again, who do I ask for permission to enter?

Roleplay is all about communication of your character's thoughts and intentions to the other characters, through both overt and discrete methods. Correct grammar and syntax greatly aids effective communication, allowing you to become a better roleplayer. This is absolutely necessary because our communication medium is written text, not the spoken word, and vocal nuances which might be present in your mind cannot be represented in text form.

If you are unable to communicate your character's perspective, then it really cripples your ability to Roleplay. This can lead to anything from being ignored by others while in-game, to outright derision.

Don't feel offended, I'm just explaining the status quo.

There was a sig here, once.

Games have rules. They all do. Here we have rules which helps to simulate a diffrent reality. For you - it's a game. For your character it's not a game, it's reality. Thefore he should do only what makes sense to him. Anyway have fun, there is a lot of ways to finally realize it and fit in. A lot of people who started here had problems too. It simply takes time to understand how things roll here.

If you feel like it - cause some chaos. Get a week off in bastille. Make some overreacting leading faction to rage.. or whatever.

Hi mate!
You can have an awesome fun when flying in fighter or bomber!
Especially if you have 10 friends flying with you!

I think one thing thats missed here is the fact that you dont have to pick ONE or TWO factions to play for, you can have accounts from every faction! I've got ships sometimes multiple ships in each of these factions:

-Zoner (Actually fly a battleship, and no i dont ask permission prior to enter house space, if somebody has a problem, open fire....I dare you. However!! My intentions are NEVER hostile. EVER. And I certainlly announce that when I enter. But I am willing to defend myself if they aren't ok with me passing through - never had to though..
-Bretonian (multiple ships here, fighter, bomber, transport)
-Rheinland
-Lbierty
-Kusari
-Outcast
-Gallic

I need to make freelancers and BHs..but meh someday..

Anyways, my whole point is you can play whatever you want whenever you want as you the player, I hop between Gallics and Bretonians all the time! but what you CANNOT do is break the super basic Role-play rules, rules your character would follow if the game was real life - just the basic ones. Such as: Gallia and Bretonian are at war, I can't just transfer cargo from my Gallic transport to my Bretonian transport that would be very much against the rules, because they hate each other and are at war.

You CAN however role-play that transaction! Say the Gallic trader was wronged by some Gallic leader and has decided to turn to smuggling for the Bretonian war effort, and the bretonians are paying him very well for that. Make that up, and go with it, as long as it's something legitimate and somewhat believable in the 'real world' your character lives in. And as long as you aren't just transfering to your own ship (you have to RP with other players, and your friends count as other players)

Also, another example, if some Liberty Navy guy wants you to dump your Xenobiotic Filters (grr happened to me the other day) No problem! Play along, dump the cargo. Dock your ship, log over to your Liberty Rogue Pirate fighter and go blow his lawful butt up!! (WITH ROLEPLAY! Since Liberty rogues are pirates and LN is lawful that shouldn't be too difficult to manage)

You CANNOT though reference that you're blowing him up because he made you dump your cargo on another character, you're characters are separate people and have no knowledge of each other, remember that.

But I've seen you flying around bretonian space a bit Ohnoudied (or somebody with a real similar name) Hit me up if you need help, or questions. I think you'll find most people want to help rather than take your stuff away. I fly the SSFailboat, the fail barge that floats around Bretonia space.

Don't get down though, some people are just so pathetic the only way they can have fun is by trying to take it away from others, and i'm pretty sure those people usually end up getting sanctioned/hated on, etc. (general statement, not aimed at anyone in particular) And sorry if this post seems real simple and a 'duh thanks for wasting our time' post..I'm not exactly...sober at the moment:crazy:

We want to be our own group, we read the rules, but regardless.

Call me factionlancer if you like, I always recommend to new player to join one official faction in here, learn how disco works, use your connection with other faction to develop your own RP.
There are no one superior than other in here, we merely a community who want to make Disco better place to play.
InRP faction do have chain of command, but a faction develop based on its member idea, and most faction are open for such idea, I hope this will open your eyes a bit about how things working in Disco.
PM me or contact me in SKYPE in you need more info
