So we all know best ship to pirate with is bomber.

But I was wondering which one is better if you rule out the bomber...Gunboat ( I would like to take Rogue/Molly Gunboat for example) or pirate transport ( as I`ve seen this one is becoming popular) ?

In the terms of sheer force, gunboat's better as it packs a lot of punch.

Reason pirate transport is popular is you can pirate for cargo and/or pick up cargo if you do destroy a trader, and sell it for a pretty hefty profit.

nah, the best ship to pirate with IMO is Pirate Transport.

but depends on what you do. sometimes, for survivability, go for Bomber. for some firepower, go for GB. for making money, Pirate Transport.

Pirate transport wins over any trader. Type 2 turrets are even damn strong turrets.
It can take the cargo to maximize your income.
But a Ptransp cannot defend himself (I'd say only 3 efficient turrets firing behind)

On an other hand, a gunboat is able to defend himself against the escort/police/military.
But no cargo will be taken.

As personal choice, the pirate transport owns even the bombers for piracy:)

I enjoy bombers. Why? Because most of my pirates are political and pirate to make a point rather than to make a profit. In using a bomber, I can teach people who backtalk me a lesson quick. I like that.

Piracy alone = Barghest, CD + torp+ SN? The best choice.

Team piracy = Barghests + P-Trans. Cargo and dead traders always good.

Untrue, Bomber does more damage...


Gunboats pirating is kinda stupid, doesn't make much sense either.

Bombers are the way to go, Gunboats can backup bombers for extra damage and defending operations, and Ptrans are awesome, and big, though untrained you'll die if a fight happens with fighters and such.

Unfortunately it's only for Mollys and Rogues, but yes.

People say it sucks, but I can fight people to a standstill in mine, at least long enough to exhaust their CDs so I can get away.

Is it off limit to indie pirates ( well who are friendly with mollys/rouges) ? (I know it can be done with good RP background but question stands if there is no story)
