I use RP cargo all the time. The game has limitations. These is RP server, so the "cargo hold" is not just representing your cargo bay but it can represent the whole ship. Its the matter of imagination. When I am in a ship that requires more than 1 person to operate I have pilots or crew. These "commodities" were created to represent the crew of the ship and IMO they are needed on board the ship. I remember the old Frontier Elite 2 where you was unable to take off when you had insufficent number of crew members. FL is not capable of these so its up to the players to imagine they are not in cargo hold but on the bridge for example. The same for the H-fuel, oxygen, water, food...

yeah just as how I thought.

we can keep it on real way- so we can consider it to be a ,,space on ship,, and we call it ,,cargo hold,, but it can look like almost any how you wish. Yeah. even those alien walls. With eggs. Or so.

and yeah partner. if you want your crew to be able to sleep on the ship, not to only participate on duty on board- that you should carry some stuff for em. Unless you follow tenacitys really correct way about thinking of trading/smuggling, cause I think I do the same on full trader money pockets.

And I had a friend who told me that his trader is just his wallet-thats why he has no time to take care of rp loot on him-, and I think its totally good, and understandable on that way.

Yeah I think its closer to how it can be imagined, for play. Thanks.

And I think elemental made good statements aswell.

Plus I highly suggest all to read the current commoditis text. there are many good rp ideas and information there to imagine how could things look like. Cmon jsut read the spaceship crew or the tourist. Or not to mention Oxygene

plus check the voting. only 22 percent who is not usin Rp cargo. so it is more likely to be considered as a full-ship with special rooms and hangars,, not a pilot ,,box,, and a ,,cargo barrel,,

Actually the cargo hold represents just the cargo hold. Which is why you have separate tabs for weapons, internal and external equipment.

If you want to use RP cargo, no one is stopping you. But there seems to be a trend among people who think a large ship without it is automatically a lolwutter. Stereotyping is bad, mmkay? Just ask any elderly black person in America.

I once attempted to pirate a trader who had food and water mixed in his cargo. I asked simply for 1 unit of food and 1 unit of water ... begged as a poor man would beg on the street. Can you believe that trader wouldn't even role play with me for 1 unit of food and 1 unit of water? He just jumped to cruise and started dropping CM's like crazy. I just sat back in my seat and watched as the idiot flew off ... jaw dropped and eyes bugged out.

Anyway ... I think I know where you're going ... like some folks fly with a crew or an NPC that represents them and/or their crew.

Take it a step further though ... don't you find it odd that some folks use Trains and other transports (used for bulk goods ... not people) have a tendency for ferrying VIP's and tourists and such? If we're gonna talk about RP cargo ... we need to address this as well. A liner class vessel would be more appropriate for VIPs and tourists. A Train would be appropriate for food, luxury goods, etc. I mean ... where are those VIP's and tourists gonna sit in a Train? VIP's certainly won't pay for passage aboard a tugboat.

It's all down to preference. Just because you have a few RP commodities in your hold, doesn't make you any more of a Roleplayer than someone who doesn't.

dont make a who has bigger cojones question of this please.

It is not who is better Rper.

But definately means that is someone doesnt even care of getting his rp cargo back, that he will defiantely dont care about rping all the time- just because he will loose time if he starts to talk with another trader or a pirate or anybo cole on his current station. Not always. but hell. the 15 minutes to get a new rp cargo is nothing compared with a long discussion about space squirrels with a long no -seen friend or foe.

See my point?

Not the cargo will maek you Rper, but it will show, that you care for your character.
Thats all. no more words from me to here.

I like the idea of carrying RP cargo but I never seem to actually do it. I find my cargo space is always full of some sort of trading cargo instead.

First you say:

' Wrote:It is not who is better Rper.

But then you say:

' Wrote:But definately means that is someone doesnt even care of getting his rp cargo back, that he will defiantely dont care about rping all the time-

I'll say it again: just because someone doesn't bother sticking a few things into their cargo hold it doesn't make them a worse roleplayer. In fact, having miscellaneous cargo has nothing to do with roleplay, roleplaying does.

Just to be perfectly clear though, I do actually use my cargo as roleplay on my Cartel character. I carry about 5-10 cardamine units on my fighter and bomber, and will give them out to allies, namely Rogues and Hackers. It doesn't just sit there stroking my ego.
