isnt the point of making a thread like this without a link to the forum? what good is a list of factions gonna do? some one might as well pm a member and ask anyway or do it in game O.o

If you have a faction forum elsewhere, it defeats the purpose of being on Discovery forums.

Those of you who do have forums elsewhere and choose to fill this forum with spam, flames and other assorted nonsense have some soul-searching to do.

Soul searching....searching...searching....nope. Sorry. I got no soul!

I am a member of a faction who have a private forum and it's very active. It's not isolationist and it allows us to blow off steam without various parties posting nonsense, flames or spam who are unaccountable for it, or importantly, upsetting anyone.
Our forum isn't all about Freelancer either although it almost all has links to it.
We have a faction feedback facility here. We have a message dump here and we have a point of contact here.
We regularly post here as part of the community and maintain our relationship, friendly or hostile as per our RP with this commnity, both in game and here, on this forum.
I think we have good relations with our fellow players generally.
I for one don't believe in washing my dirty linen in public and I don't believe thats wrong.
My characters are part of the universe that is Freelancer and most of you have seen them on at one point or another. I'm not sure I see a need to go further, posting my views and entering debate on a public forum about what I think about an admin decision or some faction or individuals actions is something I believe to be my choice. I don't see choosing to keep it private or amongst friends wrong.
If I disagree with something strongly enough or find it OTT, I won't throw it around on a forum. I'll PM you.
You may read it. You may delete it. Thats your choice, and mine as well. It's not about humiliating someone on a public forum. Why should I give up my choice and post it on said forum?
Why do I need to post my thoughts publicly?
Especially when parties do start flaming without being constructive. I lose interest, which is exactly the thing this forum should not be promoting. Person A posts, B replies, A replies with more vitriol, B responds in kind ad infinitum.
Opinion's are freely given here, welcome or no, on various topics. I don't think it's necessary to give my opinion on everything publicly.
As for it defeating the purpose of being on the disco forums, I think not.
You, like me, can be a member of various factions, just as you can be a part of several forums. You don't have to be constrained to one, but you could be liberated by many.
