Edit: few upgrades were posted by me 30.1.2010 04:46PM

Hello,

i would like some comments on this freighter concept before any other work like texturing would be done.

It would be civilian line, at this moment it is designed to be with 4 gun points around nose and like 4 turrets on port and starboard wings, CM and thurster could be on top wing.

Judging from size of pilot in dromedary it would be bit larger then it.

Model is designed with 2 decks, on top deck is command center in front folowed by passangers rooms stretching to half the ship. Back half of top deck is engine room. Lower deck is cargo bay along whole lenght of ship with doors being on back wall.

I would also like to know if there is a limit on how many vertices/faces model can have in Freelancer or what is vertice/face count for Dromedary for example. So i could add more details if there is a space :)

Looks good!

But there's something about it that bothers me...

I think it might be the possibility that such a design is actually realistic XD

That is one great freighter. I want one!

CM and Mine on the top wing, please, thruster between the engines: must be close to center of mass with the corpus inside the ship's hull.

Although I hate changes, I propose this: can we please replace the Anki with this really great model? (the Anki is a shrunk fregate-class vessel and doesn't even have a real cockpit)

The Anki has three class 10 gunslots and five class 4 turrets four of which can fire to the rear. I would rather see hardpoints and equipment-mounts on the hull than on the wings.

That is one great heavy atmospheric freighter you made there.

That really does meet the standards for realistic...

Which is awesome.

Freighters are underused, I guess people would love some beautiful alternative such as this.

See?

There are shared elements: the falling back, the twin-engines, a stout nose....
But if you look at it that way: everything tends to remind someone of something else. The freighter reminds me of a certain fish in my friend's aquarium, for example.

It looks like but with some modifications that makes different... who cares? The model is good.

How much cargo space would have?

Hello,

and thanks for replies.

That shouldnt be a problem, i just wanted something to go in pair on top wing and forgot we can have mines;)Thruster between engines is good. Weapons on hull are ok too.

I might have seen that but it wasnt inspiration on conscious level.

' Wrote:How much cargo space would have?

I was hoping for something close to top line freighters like 600 or so.

As for replacement for Anki, i have no problem with that, but may be there are people who like it as its now

Zee

P.S. Any chance someone could tell me how many vertices/faces i can use? Please? Or if its written in some thread i haven't found, link would be very much appreciated.

I think it looks more like a present-day Space Shuttle, actually. Which is still good.

Do you think it would better with redesigned engines? They appear to be pretty basic right now.

And about polys... Was the average 20k for FL ships?
