To make this realistic, if a pirate were to charge a trader, could he not then go ahead and kill him anyways?
This may not be very nice, but pirates aren't nice people
It may not be very fair to traders, but Pirates don't play by 'fair' rules in terms of RP

It appears to me this could be good RP as a right swine of a pirate, but the rules would probably sanction for this.

Please vote and give comments.

I was formerly know as Spiritar.

It's been a while.

No this is bad idea.........I voted for no.Have you ever encounter an npc ship asking for Loot, if you don,t drop your cargo they kill you and take it, but if you drop them they will tease you and leave,THEY WILL NOT KILL YOU, so I will go there way...........

I say neither really.

Since a pirate can 'pirate' they have the victim in their possession so to speak. Totally at the pirates' mercy. Blow them up after pirating is in RP, as a lot of ships in the Mediterranean found out.

I also say no because its VERY frustrating and can be called PvP abuse.

Just my thoughts.

Should a bounty hunter gunship track down and face-mow a corsair titan every time he pops online, tracking him from system to system to kill him again and again?

It's in his RP to do so and not against the rules.

Come on, now.

I said no.
Whilst this idea is theorically good, as a pirate might do it, thus respecting RP, on the real ground would be incredibly annoying, unfair, and would probably even go out of RP rules.

I'm sorry, but, my RP response would be: "I keep all my credits in my bank account. I can only offer you whatever it is in my cargo hold." I ain't paying a pirate if he's going to blow me up anyway.

Realism or not, its greifing and it encourages traders to pull out their middle finger and wave it out of their windows when a pirate asks for cargo or cash.

its in RP for the pirate to have someone else to rob next time, and if you did that to me, i'd tell you to bugger off whenever you tried to pirate me again.

No. We have rules for a reason. This just screams pvp abuse.

No, even if powertrading is despised, I'm pretty sure this would lead to every trader going *boom* after getting pirated. And this would affect the few rp-traders too

Check the sanction boards for what happens if you try this trick.

That kind of thing is left for Terrorist ID's.

Although I have chased some particularly annoying traders to their destination by dropping every lane and CD'ing them every time they enter cruise. Believe me that's frustrating, more so than simply dying.

But if they pay, let them be.
