its a rather subjective point of view - there is no evidence about it at all... but when i think of new and innovative ships - especially capital warships - its rather the order producing very few new ones before the corsairs develope a really new design. ( but thats really just me )

the corsairs will probably customize the osiris to their needs - but most of those customizations will not show on the outside.

My thoughts too, the Order would be in much better position at his point to build a new ship and drop the older out of date one then the Corsairs.

Osiris isn't the only reason to keep alliance. Maybe someone can remember the positioning of Corsairs and Order home systems? This is pure clear that the most used way to Minor is going through Gamma. So, Are order guys are wanting their supplying line being pirated and stripped to bones by Corsairs? Guess not. And Order is more like Bounty Hunters in size, but they are completely loosing in numbers to the Quasi-Home nation like Corsairs. So, there is no good reasons to break up alliances with those who have a hand on your neck, think so? Heading your ways of alliance breaking why we should be neutral to grope that messing up with our enemies (BD, Bundschuh)? I think Order have a lot of problems instead of having another armed fleet on the tail.

That was offtopic.

Intopic:

Well, You said Corsairs are have no possibilities to make something own? Wrong i though. Corsairs was alone in that region, unlikely of another houses, but they made the perfect ship M10 Titan that is still better then the most of house-developed ships. And after getting of blueprints of Osiris they immediately made the own Dreadnought only buy using conceptions of the Osiris. Corsair engineers are pure awesome with their experience in ship building. I think with the same time when order have to come to new model Corsair are will do the same. Corsairs have much more resources then Order.

Corsairs = Nation.
Order < Nation

I hope you got the point.

But yes, alliances this is something that comes with ... time and respecting. The order is the way to "hostile" factions to make their way to Corsairs and in return its a way for Corsairs to contact with hostile fractions. Its pure easy in RP. Just we haven't a lot of ingame RP contacts with order coz we\they spend lots of time to raids\piracy\wars.

And actually Gamma is most raidable system, maybe the same is NY, some BHS and Hessies are always want to swarm gamma. It seems weird for me just like invading New Berlin or New London with few bombers\fighters. How the hell that little group can bridge the border patrols and come in to the most guardable (In Rp) system?

Oh well, its offtopic again.

Tena, your corsairish osiris looks good, maybe just makes the reinforcement in the hull (GB parts) cover all the ship making something like :

The Corsairs are very proud of their heritage, of who they are.
They're pilots, they're ship builders. Ask anyone what the Corsairs are, what their strength is - they'll say ship building. That's their national identity, that's where they get their pride. The distinctive and intimidating shape of a Corsair ship.

Corsairs won't use ships they don't make, it is said.

Thus, it barely makes sense for them to be using an Osiris, as much as they might need it. Within roleplay, they'd use their skills to modify the Osiris into a truly Corsair ship, add armour and guns as they love to do, and turn it from a lighter battleship into a heavier battleship for their uses.

(I realise that you all want to preserve the dichotomy between the Legate and the Osiris, I'm just speaking within the realms of roleplay more than gameplay.)

It would really make sense if they DID have a modified Osiris - otherwise, they wouldn't be flying it, because it's not a Corsair ship.

That positioning is going to change somewhat in 4.86. Once again, cant give details, but it's no longer an excuse or reason for an alliance.

And of course this is not only the geographic reason to that alliance.

Sprolf +1

Oh my word, what have you done to that poor osiris?

You can consider that a double negative, it looks lovely and rugged.

Not without a significant speed and manuverability hit. The Osiris, to my knowledge, has the smallest profile of any battleship, the highest reverse speed, and likely the highest turn/strafe speed as well. It's a very small ship in comparison, which is why it's stuck with a light battleship power core.
