Hello there,

I thought about the Enterprise-Class lux liner sometimes and read a lot about cruise ships (those you can find on the oceans) and was asking myself why there are simply just 4 options you want to be with OSC and work in passenger business.

By now there are 2 yachts and 2 liners you can fly to have a fitting RP with those ships but compared to all those different types of (sea)ships I think it's a little less.
Maybe it's time to modify the Enterprise-Class a little bit - it would fit in my own RP - or have some new liners flying around in Sirius.
Although I've thought about the decks of those liners, compared to other ships of that size the liners seems to be a little short on decks or at least windows. I guess when you are on a cruise on a liner you want to see what's going on in space and have a look on the planets the liner is in orbit of.

What do you think of my ideas?

Hello,

I agree that more liners or passsanger specific transports couldnt hurt.

Perhaps you would like to be more specific about what updates you would like to see on enterprise liner and someone might catch on those ideas.

As for less windowed decks, i would imagine that traveling in luxury in space requires hell lot more resources then transporting ore, its one of reasons why liners are bigger then transports with similar cargo space. It is also entierly possible that for one deck with windows for passangers there is one deck without windows where maintenance crew and numerous machines working around the clock to keep those VIP in comfort. Those dont get paid to stare out of windows so they didnt get any to not be tempted ;)

Well, by now I don't have any special ideas what the "new" enterprise class could look like but I'll try to draw some drafts.

I would like to see a Liner for every fraction, and then maybe with specials like a Swimming-Pool-Dome :yahoo:or a window texture where you can see a restaurant after it.

Staff roles:

A modest passenger transport with an inanimate-cargo deck is needed more than another luxury liner. These would carry both passengers and cargo. Something about half the size of a luxury liner would do nicely.

I agree, we do need more ships that are designed for passengers.

I really like your idea, thought of something like that too. I mean, it's a liner or at least something like a ferry and so there's gotta be some special places where you should see the difference to all the other ships.
Well, there might be a problem to build that dome, I dont know 'cause I have acutally no skills in ship-building.
But at least there could be some larger windows to have something like a observation deck or something.
Maybe there's a chance to get something like an airlock to both sides where a finger could be attached when the shipner is docked to a station.
Next thing to personalize the ship a little bit more, there should be some more hardpoints for lights.

And I really like the idea to have some passenger shipsners that are build in the design line of the houses but I somehow can't figure out how a Rheinland liner/ferry could look like. It doesn't fit in my mind.:D

I agree that there should be more liners, its same class like any other ship. It would be nice to met more different linners.

Decrease the prices? No, that would be really terrible and soon you got more semi-lolwuts using luxury liners to trade with all kinds of commodities just because it looks cool to have a liner.
IMO the prices for liners (except the luxury and royal) are good, so you rather have to increase the prices for the luxury and royal liners.
