* All official factions get an official faction ID.
* All members of these official factions need to apply for the ID through their faction leader.
* All HIGH GRADE military equipment (top class weapons, shields, armor, etc.) for all ship classes would be restricted access to those only carrying the official faction ID. I think adding new equipment, Mark10 weapons and similar for the capital ship classes, slightly better shields, MarkIX armor, etc. would mean a player wipe should not be needed.;)
* The same could - if voted on and accepted by the majority - be implemented to access the top-of-the-line capital ships.

Since it appears that certain elements of the player base have spoken loudly, and white cell purchases are not restricted at this time - I do not want to hear any complaints if (or when) your white celled ship ends up in Bastille because it's not on an officially approved list.
It was mentioned in a discussion a while back that it seems that some people were wanting recreations of Charlton Heston bringing the tablets down - no problem, you got it.
Extra staff have been added to Bastille and are now waiting to serve you.
In other words, the tech chart is still part of the rules here, and just because you guys have complained about our attempt to use something to help enforce the rules one way - you have now given up your right to complain when we do it the old fashioned way.

that... if it was indeed implemented - would lead to an unbearable situation for the majority of players for the pleasure of a minority - and not even all those that d have the power to enjoy their greater freedom would feel comfortable with it.

think outside the box. - think of how a player feels that has to beg for everything. - and keep in mind that discovery at least "was" build on the freedom of choice of both, equipment AND roleplay in a healthy symbiosis - and that no one ( that means not one, no matter of how long he has been around, how many posts he made or what IQ or doctors grade he can present ) is qualified to judge over other peoples choices and roleplay.
however - i would sometimes like to implement such suggestions - for the fun... ( oh - and for the fun of it - make sure that all your chars are non-official, and official factions employ a roleplay that differs from your idea of the factions RP )
we should really consider players to be quite capable of deciding whats appropriate and what is not. players shouldn t need to beg for what they need. the roleplayed restriction of certain pieces of equipment or even certain ships is OK. - but not by the rules, but by the players RP themselves.
If this trend continues i will have to secure the services of a lawyer to represent me in the creation of a new ship. Does mwerte still have such a character?
- by the server rules you are not allowed to buy ship XX
- by game mechanics you are allowed to buy ship XX
So the ID-related purchase is a very fine solution.
And the beginners or newbies, some of them read the rules, before they start here, as it should be. But more of them searched only for the most populated server, and than start here. Sooner or later they read the rules, I am sure, but sometimes they cross the sanction-section before, which is bad.
It has annoyed many people before, also it was a trap before.
I like the change, that cannon made. It helps disco.

Yet another restriction that punishes everybody universally, if not more so for the people who are responsible and come to the forums and ask factions if they can fly x ship. I know the GMG allows people to 'steal' their technology, if people have a valid reason and ask nicely. This shoots that in the face.
Yes ... there have always been and will always be ... loopholes ... to everything.
By the way ... how long does it normally take for a response to SRP requests?

And you fail to see the irony in your post, compared to your tag line ? The story in your tagline, which you use to ridicule a player, is exactly the stuff that this gamemechanics enhancement would have prevented.

I fail to see your point, considering that Loleplay story sucks ass, He did however have the appropriate ID and IFF needed for the ship the Loleplay is for.
Therefore your argument is Invalid.
Also to the above statement.
I have no clue what your point is, nor do I care.
I've been here long enough to know how things work here.
