Ah, a RONJA transceiver, and nicely built ones. Most of those I've seen were quite rudimentary.
Nice, cheap and free line of sight wireless link.... 10mbps of speed.
You only use red or infrared leds to transmit data over a distance. Its a simple device, originated at Czech republic.
