From the above statement I can only surmise that you've never flown any of the mining ships. D: Maffic and Dacite fleets had no worries in going toe to toe with their Hessian counterparts. They're evidently not insanely good ships given that every Tom, Dick and Harry isn't flying them but they're very competent. However they also -mine-. They get a mining bonus. As such they rate a penalty over conventional space superiority vessels.
I fly mafics. and DU7-5Y's (dont think I didnt see that, Dusty you sly bastard <3). At any rate, I was unaware that the Dactite actually got a mineing bonus. But yet, by the same token, we know how well an escort proper fares against a determined enemy.
