What they did what beyond all expectations.

True. They also suprised me with winning against Italy. Pity they didn't beat Netherlands, but they were participating in this tournament for the first time, so it is a giant success for us. I hope our nation was well-representated. :)

but I can't help but feel this world cup horribly cheap. Germany/Argentina were arguably the better teams and most worthy to go through, but Mexico and England both got so screwed by decisions that they hadn't a prayer. Granted that England were poor; the game would've still been a little more even if it had ended at 2:2 for the first half and England were not forced to become desperate at 60-70 minutes in, leading to the two counter attack goals (England can't seem to play patiently like Argentina/Mexico).

If FIFA can't act to change for the next tournament based on those two games, then there never will be a change. That I guess is England and Mexico's contribution to the World Cup.

Why would they do that?

England vs Germany, 1966, the refeere called Goal for a ball that never crossed the line.
Argentina vs England, 1986, Hand goal.
Germany vs Argentina, 1990, the refeere called pentalty when it wasn't.
Italy vs Australia, 2006, The refeere called penalty when the foul was outside the area.
Spain Vs South Korea, 2002, 3 Goals for spain that the refeere called invalid for non-existing offsides.
Brazil Vs CdM, 2010, Hand goal from Brazil.

The list goes on.

My suggestion would be... add more line refeeres, 2 are not enough, that's clear, Tennis has... god knows how many refeeres, Football needs more too, at least 2 more, with 2 more refeeeres Argentina would haven't scored that goal, that's a way to fulfil FIFA's wishes to don't use technology.

Imma 'fraid that Brasil with their new recipe is gonna take the cake. I sure hope not, but it smell that way.

Flying under radar.
