As the Bounty Hunter's Guild Core wages war against The Order and The Nomads in the outer borders of Sirius, new technologies are constantly being researched and developed based on recovered salvage. Initial attempts at implementing organic Nomad components into core vessels resulted in several unforseen consequences, including infection of the pilot as well as negative effects on psychological and physical performance.

In order to continue testing these technologies without interference from a compromised pilot, or damage to the pilot, AP manufacturing's Research and Development team began project Tiburon - with the goal of creating a remotely-piloted vessel to serve as a Nomad technology testbed platform. Initial attempts to utilize existing fighter chassis were ineffective, and it was decided that a new vessel designed without a pilot in mind would best suit the role.

The engineers developed several conceptual designs, and eventually settled on one based on the structure of the rare Harvester drones that had previously been encountered in the Omicron systems - the shape of the vessel allowing for maximum structural integrity and performance. Construction of the vessel began, and the craft was fitted with several experimental technologies including a solar propulsion system which allowed the ship to gather energy from nearby stars in order to propel itself, using organic material harvested from Nomad vessels destroyed in combat.

Currently, the Tiburon is assigned to assist guild vessels in the edge worlds, serving primarily as an escort craft for AP research craft. The drone, while not truly a self-sufficient AI vessel, is equipped with a rudimentary AI system which handles onboard processes, while the ship itself is flown remotely from a nearby guild station or research craft.
