When you jumping to fight 1 vs 1 on your pirate with navy near (in few k off) lane\gate\station its annoy when 30 navy\police patrols spawn (got bless if without cruisers\BSes), then 100 convoys with 300 annoying escort ships are starting to shoot you, then another crap of some kind spawns ... well, it pisses off, coz you should run from 1000 npces. But if you do - leave system for 4 hours. Not cool i'd say.
If there is a way to make bots to spawn not that often, like 1-2 enounter per area, so you can meet train with 2 ships in escort and 3 police ships patrolling. Not 1000 police and 300 trains.
See Mjolnirs post earlier in this thread. The number of, locations, level, and loadouts of the NPC's is something controlled in the Mod. Devs have to change that. Mjolnir has allready said that they wont mind doing that, if needed, so send your suggestions to him just as he requested, and they will go over it, and possibly change it in 4.86.
As for the running of the server, we can set the cpuload at which they spawn, i.e. an on or off switch when cpuload reaches a specific load. Nothing else.
I know. I think it'll be nice to do something like you said for now. Just to stop NPCes from spawning when here is around 160 players online or more.
Suggestions for next version of mod is suggestions for next version of mod. It's the way bigger work to do then lowering cpuload limit for npc spawn stop.
' Wrote:Actually, if your rep is correct, friendly fire doesn't automatically set the NPCs hostile to you anymore.
Actually, if you fire a cd it does, and you know..Mines+CD
They don't make you hostile to the faction, they make you hostile to the NPC's that are currently there.
You really are wrong there.
4.85 NPCs don't attack you if you are 100% green to them, whatever you do to them. You can CD them, mine them, kill them ... Although by killing them, your rep will go down, so you'll soon have it too low for this.
Please, try this in game before disagreeing again.
The problem with the NPCs is that there's way to many combat ones. All the transports are fine and dandy, and their escorts. But with the way they're spawning, there are literally millions of <insert armed faction here> pilots flying around. Some systems look like they're in the middle of a civil war (and no, I don't mean Leeds). You could blow up 20 of them, only to have 20 more spawn a minute later. That isn't realistic.

True. If you try to pirate with the pirate ID- Well everything is hostile and you cannot move much without taking npc swarm on you, may be there will be better to have only high level NPCs. I see no point when Mollys/rogues/corsair/outcast lightfighters try to shoot on my transport or to demand my cargo. Make them with good mk 2 ships and reduce their spawn time at least 3 to 4 times less.So still be some NPCs they will be not so easy to kill, they could be able to do damage to you. You will not be swarmed by brainless bots that go on red is dead and are activated by CD or mine.
Locations:
When you pirate in liberty as rogue in bomber you cannot kill fast enough useless patriot spam when the next wave comes. In california from Mohave to NY gate. Remove the patriot spam and put liberators- many people pirate there. Make the spawning time 5 times less and it will be nice change.
Other Location: BD dragoon fighters in New Tokyo- Near Narita and the Shipyard - there are at least 10 of them spawning there.

Actually you are wrong here. So you go ahead and try it before posting another comment. If you have regular IFF the NPC's WILL attack you if you CD them. Only if you have guard rep they wont touch you. If you want some screenshots I would be more then happy to go ingame now and take them, for I have been shoot at by navy npc's when I had a navy IFF (regular). Maybe this is just happening to me.
But before you post another comment, YOU go test it ingame. Im not a retard, I know what happened to me.
People talking about only high level npc's are probably forget that another people have to start playing here not with VHF AU8 but with CSV and starflier.
So, NPCes are good, but amount of them isn't.
1. Decrease amount of NPC spawns and number of ships in one encounter. So you can meet 2 navy ships patrol, not 100 navy ship patrol. They will not annoy you and enchance environment very well. But it long work, could be done in new mod.
2. CPULoad level to be lowered to stop npc spawns when 140 people online or more. Could be done without updates serverside. and its cool.
3. Nerf stationed BSes\Stations\Dock rings D:<<< They are increasing firepower according to ships around (seems so to me) and THEY COUNT damn NPCes and start firing razors like solaris turret when here is only 3 people around. Also that is not good because some people are love to hug bs when loosing the fight. Actually they should dock to it in this case. But they hugging bs and bs firing like a mad so nothing can't get closer. Only 2 options here: 1) Wait until ran to bs person will dock and win (for hours), but he can just call 1000 ships to help him vs 2 fighters and they still can hug bs. 2) Cruise away and loose the fight where you really win.

He's 100% right in what he says and he tested it. If you have full green reputation to an NPC it won't ever start to fire at you when you "fire" at it with nothing else around, doesn't matter what IFF you have, only thing that matters is your reputation with that particular NPC.
Don't forget that there might be more NPCs around that just the one type though. So if you are full green to navy but only white to say DSE transport flying around and fire a CD.... then the DSE will turn red...which will turn the navy red in turn.

Yes it could, what patrols and what numbers? There are no 100 ship patrols, current max number in most populated areas is around 12 ship I think. Maximum number per single patrol is 4 ships afaik.
This is also the reason why I'm asking people to specify what NPCs and where."Fix everything now!!!" certainly doesn't help.

Funnily enough just a short time ago I got requests that wanted to increase firepower of all defenses to avoid things like Trident groups camping Manhattan.
Yes people can use stationary BS for defense, which is what they are meant for. If the "win"/"loose" part for you is the blue message then perhaps you should head to Connecticut or some of the tournaments.

Well, we have 2 ways here. People are still complaining about gank, outnumbering in fights etc, but in the same moment they hugging bases and asking for increasing they pwnforce to hug them more efficiently. Or we can remove 0.0 rule which made to keep fun income to all players.
0.0 Be excellent to one another. Consider the people around you. Keep fair play in mind. It's a game and nothing is gained, or lost, save the experience. Credits can be re-earned. Ammunition replenished. If you become infuriated step away. If you make a mistake apologize. If you wish to remain in system after you die, or after someone has moved away, simply ask.
What we are talking about when people hug a base when fighting 5 vs 2 pirates and shieldrun around bs.
Well, that's another story. SO if bases will get more power - remove that rule please because that rule applied only when lolpirate asking 15 millions from rhino.
I dunnow how encounters works. But to be short: 4 ships in one encounter. But, they coming N times with 4 ships. And you getting swarm behind you.

That was directed not to you nor to anyone but to situation could happen. If you want i can delete it from post. It's np. I apologies for any misunderstanding.
