Hence the reason I offered the second suggestion. Die and take a small hit on cash and loop around some other way to your destination.

To prevent starting new topic and to ask on something JJ pointeed out, what is reasonable amount in pirating? Based on situation, how can one determine when the price is too high and which rule is really covering such situation? ie pirate demanding 2 millions from empty trader or cheap cargo filled Gull transport?

On the topic there are a lot of Lolwuts on both sides so thats why this topic is useless.

Blue messages ... you're there as a pirate to make money. You want to teach the guy a lesson, why are you killing him? Blow off some of his turrets if you can, so he has to replace them. If he gets away, don't worry about it or let it stress you. He comes along again, you can pirate him again and again.
Agmen 90% of the time when I encounter empty trader/trader with not so worthy cargo he says:
Well I will not pay you kill me. I tried to shoot the turrets - it takes time and you can kill the miner by mistake sniping his turrets with SNAC.If I shoot his turrets down he stays near me(screaming my location to all lawfuls possible) and waits to be killed in order not to re-buy them.May be making transport turrets more fragile and some adding some repair bills to the traderships when they die would fix it.

In my book the pirate should not ask more then the whole price of the cargo- for example you it will be abuse to take all cargo from gold miner(44mill) and ask other 5 mill for his live. Or if the cargo worth is 10 mill at the trader's destination to ask for 12 mill tax.
If the two factions are hostile then you can just demand all cargo and kill it even if you cannot haul it.

Bo wins the topic.

Well I for myself RP my Pirate GB in that way, that I don't only take mone,if the trader has some RP cargo on board i rp it in the way that my Pirates on board on the GB board the Freighter/Transport/Liner and maybe take no Money or Cargo but one or two members of the Crew.Or if the Player refuses in the RP my Pirates don'T hesitate to throw some crewmembers out of the open Airlock until noone is probably left exept the captain.

What I want to show that there is a wide band width of RP Pirate Chars allow...not only 2Milordai or gimmeh 23%of ya cargoz...In my opinion Pirate chars, even the independent one are one of the chars with the best RP opportunities on the server.

So far...

What counts as unreasonable is determined on a case by case basis. So long as people aren't breaking the rules, administrators generally don't and shouldn't get involved, provided things aren't getting out of hand. If you think they are, report the incidents.
