(Article is in French)

This month, two people were arrested in the Province of Quebec for diffusing hate messages on the internet. The first one was arrested June 15th (in the town where I live, actually), for using his Facebook account to denigrate the local enthicities (namely the native amerindians), and the other was arrested the 17th, for using his youtube account to promote nazism. Some thinks that it's justice, others think that it's unfair to arrest people for showing their beliefs on the internet. What do you think?

I want to get off Mr. Igiss' wild ride.

In as much as I find it deplorable to promote Nazism on You Tube, I also don't think it's right to block people from doing it. Maybe outside the U.S. there is no Freedom of Speech but here, there is.
People are free to speak as they will. I, in turn, have the right not to listen....or watch...if I don't agree with it. Leave my rights alone and I'll leave yours.

He is free to do whatever he wants as long as he doesn't force his opinion onto others. Seeing as it's youtube and you can just, y'know, change the page, I don't see that happening.

No, no, and no.

Because while we have a freedom of speech here in Qu?bec, we can't use it to say anything negative.

I want to get off Mr. Igiss' wild ride.

This is why I don't live in Quebec.

Well. One of many reasons:)

I have lots of things I'd like to say using my freedom of speech. Too bad I like my posting privileges.

Retired, permanently.

And saying everything I'd want to would have the majority of the forums mob-mentality-hating me.
