Why do people who feel the need to spout their opinions and beliefs nearly always hate something and attempt to promote the same hatred?

Didn't vote.

In other words, unless Igiss and the Mod team wants you to, you don't have freedom of speech here.
:nyam:

See the problem is that more and more corporations are getting that mentality as well. The Internet is for any and all, and that's how it evolved so rapidly. We already see crap blocked on Youtube in certain countries, by Sony, WMG or some other giant. Soon enough you'll have the internet providers blocking access to several websites, therefore limiting that so called 'freedom'.

Oh and Bubbles, funny thing about it is that none of them are right:P

That's the problem here in America anyway. If people actually were held accountable, maybe we wouldn't have so many repeat offenders and such.

There is a clear difference between "Stating your beliefs", let's say I hold that communism is the best form of government, and you hold that a republic is the best form of government. We can both freely state our opinions on the appropriate web sites (private site = the owner can control or limit what is said, yes that includes facebook) and neither of us should be arrested.

But, if I advocate the extermination of an entire people group, that is no longer just my opinion and is instead 'hate speech' which should not be tolerated.

I believe Adolf Hitler was the messiah!

Jokes aside - there is some limit of tact on t3h internets. Those crossing over it are either intentional trolls, twisted minds or idiots (or all of those)

And no, it shouldn't be arrestable. Internet communities are doing a better job ostracizing such individuals.

True freedom of speech doesn't exist.

It never has and never will.

The only way you can stop someone talking is by killing them, no censorship is powerful enough to restrict freedom of speech.

As much as it pains me to say it, and as much as I think if it were up to me, I'd go out and do horrible horrible things to those who preach hate of any kind...

No, I do not think these people should have been arrested for posting hateful messages over the internet. If they had directed these hate messages at one specific individual based on their race or whatever, that would have been different, as it would have been a personal attack motivated by ethnic/religious intolerance, but just speaking about a population demographic negatively should not have caused those two to be arrested...

It's a weird subject for me, considering I can't stand listening to people preach blind, bigotry and hate...but, I guess, unless the people are actually acting on that hate, or causing others to act on it, I suppose they should not have been arrested...

Me, personally, if I ran a country, I'd arrest people for preaching hate of any kind against any population, race or religion...but I don't run a country, so I dunno...

Of course they should be arrested. Nobody wishes to be associated with nazism these days. Make it a bit unpopular in term of relationships. Doesn't mean you can't spread messages of hate and bigotry... so long it's convenient to the state.

Quoted for truth.

Say what you will, deep down, you know it is true.

Anything I say is not intended as offensive, and to try and deliberately misinterpret it as such would be an attempt at trolling via misrepresentation.

It's not a conspiracy, it's localised bias. They're not intelligent enough to form a conspiracy.

So long as they don't come up to my door rubbing some leaflet in my face about Jesus/Allah/Buddha/Odin (Maybe not Odin) I am happy, preach all you want, just not at me, I'll stick with privatised agnosticism
