What is with the cutouts?

I like those Cutouts, like in my own Signature. I don't know why, but for me they make it more abstract. Like my own Style.

Perhaps add some simple line textures under it?

Actually I'd prefer to leave it clear. Not only because I can only think of something like that, I just prefer it free.

I don't see what's so bad about cut-outs actually. It's mostly about the right composition and I think Schlurbi so far has done quite a nice job with cut-outs.

BTW, I was bored again. Scaled down looks better than interpolated into mashed pixels. Though I could have improved the border lighting...
