You win Mike.

Edit: And to further the discussion...........

I'm glad the Yanks made it through the group stages. They are a team, in the truest sense of the word, surpassing their individual abilities. I'll look forward to the rematch, assuming we beat Germany, then Argentina, then ....................................... *gulps*

:(

Edited Edit: Maybe next time...........

i watched the game when the US made it into the world cup.
and i cheered, drunkenly, but gracefully.

I have these two friends of mine.
One of them is a girl from Argentina.
the other is from here, Alaska.

they made a bet.
If U.S. makes it further into the world cup than Argentina, then she has to shave her head.
if Argentina makes it further, then he has to shave his head (this is coming from a guy who has for a long time had long, curly hair...)

I love "soccer" and love watching it. I support the U.S., but deep down inside i feel confident that they aren't going to make it very far in the world cup series.....
and my friend will undoubtedly have to shave his head while we all laugh and ridicule his existence. (because thats what friends do, right?)

I understand your lack of confidence Dude, but now is the time to break that psychological conditioning.

I have a 3-step plan that will break that conditioning at the economically low, low price of free.

Step One: Remind yourself that the only game we have to win is the next one & pay no mind to games beyond that.

Step Two: Rub the tummy of this American Soccer Buddha at least 20 minutes before each game.

Step Three: Refer to Red Bulls link in post #3 & reclick as needed until you feel no fear:yu:

Hey, Exile, for your review:

You will notice that this man is going to use his "foot" to kick the funny shaped ball so it IS football here in America. We just do more than kick it. Sometimes, we throw it down field or even tuck it under an arm and run with it.

Either way, I love both games.

He's still wearing a helmet and armour! Real men play Rugby while protecting themselves with leather caps.

As you can see, it doesn't always make a difference. Observe.

Now, changing sports a bit and no kidding, I USED to do full contact karate tournaments....without protective gear. I don't think it made me more manly but I DO think I was fairly stupid for not wearing it. Getting KO'd twice made me realize that.

....and I've watched a rugby game before. Yes, it is fun to watch.
