As Attorney at Law on Planet Erie I have - by my client, mr. J.J. River - head of the River-family and acting director of the United Mining Workers of Sirius - been instructed to pass the following message to all IMG-related groups, including =CR=, IMG|, ICMG|, [KoF], IMS (ORO) etc.:

"Hello there, all

I am a man of few words - and will cut this short.

I have - as head of the UMWS - noted a decline in the mining activities in the Tau's since the sudden dive in the ore-market, that we saw earlier this year.

It seems to me, that several miners have left the business to try their hand on other ventures. I suspect, that this includes piracy.

This is not good - not good at all. Strenght is in numbers - among other things - as some of you has pointed out again and again. We can not let the independent miners become inferior to others, because of a weak market.

So we need new blood to fill the ranks.

In the UMWS we have no intention of becoming bigger - for certain reasons we will remain a small, exclusive organization. But as we are concerned with the wellbeing of our brothers, I propose the following:

1. The UMWS contacts new pilots, primarily in Pennsylvania, with the purpose of introducing them to the world of mining - and with the aim of becoming true IMG- or CR-miners.

2. The recruits recieves an extensive training program - and will end up graduating as IMG-ID miners.

3. They will then be equipped with a Hegemon-class mining-ship - and the latest mining-equipment - and then introduced to the miningfields in the Tau's.

4. After this it will be up to you - and your organizations - to introduce them to your own factions and groups. The recruits will off course be aware of this. Their ships will be named with a ®UMWS| -tag for easy recognizition.

5. This procedure will be absolutely cost-free for your organizations. The money spend will form a personal loan - for which only the recruit will be liable. After all some might chose to become truely independent. However it would be appreciated, if you help ensure that the loans are accutally paid back. Normally that is not an issue.

I hope you will see positively on this proposal. Feel free to comment it.

Yours truely

J.J. River"

This concludes the message from mr. River. Any comments can be posted here.

Well one would have to be hard of thinking to decline such a proposal. Our own reasons for accepting are fairly simple: while we were planning to establish a recruitment outlet in Liberty, it is a hard thing to accomplish for mainly diplomatic reasons. Hard to siphon out pilots a house might need, especially a house at war. But since you're after untrained civilians, most likely undesirables such as minorities, petty criminals et cetera... That's exactly the kind of people both we and presumably the miner core want...

In other words, on the behalf of the government we happily accept and expect the arrival of potential trooper anxiously.

I have notified my client about your positive answer.

He was happy about your answer stating that the Colonials has always been a force, that one could count on.

But he also expressed his concern about the fact, that no other has made a respons. Or as he put it "Where the h... is the rest of them?".

Greetings Zukertort,

As a newly appointed Manager of the ICMG, I am sure I speak for all of ICMG that we look forward to this service, as we are currently in the process of reforming our presence in the Tau systems.

We as the above transmissions, accept this proposal, and will henceforth look for ®UMWS| -tagged vessels for our future recruitment and development of the ICMG. We thank you for this service, for getting new pilots to the Tau's can be a hard service in itself.

Regards,

Harus S. Byrke
Manager of the ICMG

Dear gentlemen

My client has informed me, that he has succeded in recruiting a new potential member of your organizations.

The pilot is flying the ®UMWS|Constantine - and he has been introduced to Niobium Ore mining in Tau 23.

My client has spend around 35 mill. credits in his education and his ship - but the new pilot is aware of his obligations to pay this amount back.

The new pilot is also aware, that he might be approched by some of you - and that certain additional strings might be attached before he can enter one of your organization.

He is all yours now.
