Everyone is on the forums because we are looking to see why the server is debilitatingly laggy. This is causing the forum to be debilitatingly laggy.

There was a complaint because your signature violated forum rule 1. Specifically:
Quote:Adult content or links to adult content; This includes any anime that is in any way slightly graphic or pornographic;
So it's been removed.

Seriously, I doubt that sunspot activity has anything to do with it, unless you are sitting on a sat connection, or the International Space Station.

It defintely doesn't impair any WiFi link, nor 3G or WiMAXX links. If the sun spot activity had enough power to interfere with those links, we'd all be burned to a crisp cinder allready.

Sunspot activity that severe would cause the auroras to be visible far, far south (on the northern hemisphere). Since that's not the case, we can rule that out for now. I'm still thinking an intermittent connection issue where the server is unable to get it's own data back down the pipe. Since we don't have info on additional applications running on the server (firewall? Antivirus? Other applications that intercept network traffic or temporarily exclusively lock the server process?) it's hard to say what this is exactly, but I am sure our hardworking admin team is trying to figure this out so they too can get back to pewing;)

Thunderstorms, flooding, tornado - all happening right now but i suspect a drunken network guy at Hetzner.:P

btw: the same kind of laggy server behaviour also happened Monday morning (server time) to me.

Maybe we should make a computer network based on nomad mindshare, that way it will always work:P
Na just kidding, I had enormous lag to and I normally have a ping between 35-42 and 0 fluct and lag but now I had a fluct of 13 what brought me up to 55 ms ping. Maybe there was some usefull information in that one?

I am having a hard time playing with that sort of lag. Never had problems with the server 8 months ago since I was last here. Maybe the ISP sucks? Or someone playing from Greenland or the South Pole is ruining the server for us...? At times, it is unbearable....yesterday, the red icon was showing for an HOUR and I was in-game, but was not able to chat and dock anywhere. So basically I ended up exiting the server manually since I didnt get kicked out....

FIX THAT LAG!!! THIS IS RIDICULOUS!

EDIT: By the way...every time it recovers from the 30sec of RIDICULOUS lag, it kicks someone for cheating. Is everyone a cheater now? It kicks people from the BAF, long standing experienced players and everyone it wants. This happens every time it recovers from lag and I've just about had it having to wait 30 secs before docking / regenerating with bots / jumping to other systems. POSSIBLE CHEATING DETECTED.....this is annoying too, you know.
