Ok, I can do ship skins for certain ships (Sorry, cant necissarly do House ships since they share one MAT files...), and only you will be able to see the skin. This will not give an unfair advantage to a pilot, but just purely for fun and preference. Personally, I'd Mod my Wrath's skin, but it shares a MAT File. As I said, this wouldnt give a pilot an unfair advantage, but it is just for the pilot's preference. You may have seen some of my work earlier, and I will say this; I am NOT adding any ships. I Will NOT add an excessivly bright or dark model for any given reason (Such as my Firestorm. That you'd be able to see a mile away.). I also *May* be able to put in personal names and such, depending on the ship.

I'll do these for little to no price. Price *may* go up if there is a Demand for these Skins. For the Admin's sake, I'll post up how it works;

Step one; Download the MAT file I give you.
Step two: Back up your current mat of the ship (In Example, If the ships old mat is Ship.mat, Copy and paste it in a safe folder. ALWAYS keep the original.)
Step three: Copy the MAT I gave you (Usually it will already be properly named and tested.) into the SAME folder as the old one was in (IE, if the old MAT file was in Ships\Rheinland, then the new one goes there. MAKE DOUBLY SURE YOU BACKED UP THE OLD ONE.)
Step four: Start game
Step five: Enjoy

As you can see, there wouldnt be any way to cause cheating, but just for preferences. Only you will be able to see the new skin (Unless someone else has it installed.). I also think it would help RP a bit, So their own 'Custom' ship without having to release a patch or new mod.

Admins, if this is in the wrong place, or if you have a problem with this, I would have no problems with you moving it or deleting it. This is considered as modding textures. ONLY textures. Dont ask me to add ships. If you want a certain pattern, please supply it.

Post requests here. Your finished MAT will be sent to ya via PM. Feel free to distribute, I take no credit. The models and Original textures were made by those creators, so I thank them and give credit to them.

I know this works, as I am doing it right now on the server. I edited the Bomber when I had it, but since I dont fly any more in it, its kinda sitting there like a lump :\

I'm hoping to re-start my shipyard business I had going on my other servers I played on.

I figured custom textures would be more RPistic cause WWII Pilots would paint names or other insignias on their airplanes to show it was theirs. Why not do something like that here? If only everyone could see the custom textures.. But that would bring Max lag overkill XD Anyways, I thought it was a good RP idea at the time.

Ok, Heres my Price guideline (I figure I should post it up, as I figured out what I'm gonna do.) This is based on the variables of Demand, and the current state of the Galactic Economy. If the economy and/or demand goes up, prices go up. If the econmoy/ demand goes down, the prices go down.

first 15 images are FREE. Every texture contains images. For a ship, the first 15 images are for free.

I will be adding 1 million credits for every image over 15 (Usually only capital ships have over 15 images, so I'm pretty much giving these out for free.)

In example: Most fighters have 4-8 images to texture the ship. This retexture would be free.

An Imperial Dreadnought (From Freeworlds) has 26 Textures. This would cost 11 million Credits.

The Argo (The ship I suggested in more cool ships topic) has 34 textures. This would cost 19 million credits.

And so on and so forth.

I can do them almost immediately. Most the time, the texture will be given to you on the same day as the request.

How much size will images like these take up on the server ??

Was thinking that it would be REAAAALLLY worth while if everyone could see your original ship design. Could have been included in the next mod. If you have an original idea, you could claim copyright on it and it would then be included in the next mod...

Sorry, my mind has a habit of running away with me... I have to consider it... might even be tempted enough to create a couple of designs for fun...

...but like Exile said -> ADMINS APPROVAL...

As far as Exile said, I'll do that Immediately. I enjoy texturing ships.

As far as your question, Victor, It will cause no lag what so ever, because The Texture files are used on your compy. In other words, Not just your ship will be changed, but every ship of the type (IE, If I edit a Titan, Every titan will appear to have the same Paintjob to me, and only me.) Freelancer uses your MATs you have stored on your Compy to interpret what each ship should look like. FL doesnt read the Host's files and transfer them to you. So, no difference in performance.

Oh, please almighty gods, let me start this! I dont seek profit, as you may see. I just thought it would be a good idea.

Good news. I got Igiss' approval now. But, for copyright reasons (And Igiss' request), I must now make a disclaimer.

These textures are NOT in any way part of the original Discovery Mod. They are NOT official. For security reasons, I will be including a special hidden sig on every texture I do, so that I can prove that I dont make any textures that would give an unfair advantage (Such as invisible textures, or Extremely easy to hit textures.) Unless Igiss says otherwise, NONE of these textures are part of Discovery. All credit goes where it is due. None of the original textures are mine, and are the original creator's. DISCLAIMER IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE AT ANY TIME FOR ANY GIVEN REASON, WITH OR WITHOUT NOTICE.

As the creator of the Stinger, Tigershark, Virage and Havoc MKII model, I request that none of the texture files of these ship models should be altered in anyway.
