Right now, the Zoners and Guild Core are staring at each other menacingly while waving around large <strike>penises</strike> warships, everything else seems to be business as usual.
As for 4.86... well, the Gallic Royal Navy and the Zoners haven't really been getting along too well (read: they shoot each other on sight) and the GRN is going into the Taus in 4.86. There are Zoner bases in the Taus. Do the math.
Question about how bad Zoners have it has nothing to do with 4.86.
Hostility towards Zoners was known to grow in mid of the update, or new alliances were made, or non aggression pacts were forged. Yes, in 4.86 Gallia is coming out of the closet and that's officially the only new threat, but that doesn't mean that, for example, new trade route near freeport 1 will not be opened that will supply.. Lets say Rheinland from Liberty resulting in 150 zoners trading trough there daily, pissing off the Liberty and making it hostile to zoners!?:D

Now you're thinking with <strike>portals</strike> economics. You can win wars without firing a shot, after all... Sun Tzu stated something to the effect of "to defeat your opponent in equal combat, achieving victory through fighting, is not the acme of skill; rather, the acme of skill is to achieve victory without fighting" (I'd go find the exact quote but my copy is ten feet away and I don't feel like getting up >.< ). A lot can happen that "Gallia invades!" doesn't get into.
