Is anyone ready to run a screenshot contest for Discovery?

This means: set the rules, track the entries, set up voting and conclude the conquest. I think that one of the moderators is the right choice for this kind of work. Will take some of your time, but not much. Main thing is to have a schedule and organize things the right way.

Good-looking, without chats or anything. You may review rules of old contests; I'll re-post some here if I find them here.

Thus commences the 11th annual Discovery Screenshot contest!

This is how we're gonna swing this baby, baby*. I want y'all to put out your best. Your coolest WAZOO combat pics, your coolest WHOA epic scenery pics. Pictures must be from 4.85, no boxy taiidans.

Not your most LOL russians say the darnest thing pics. Trolls will probably lose a few code names. We're going for the visuals here people.

Trolls will be brutally ruined. I've no time or patience for them in this thread.

Consider this the qualifier round. The people who pull out the stops and throw down some red hot images of epic will qualify for the SUDDEN DEATH PICTURE GATHERING MODE MODE MODE mode mode mode mode

The loot bag: Man I dunno. Nothing in this round. The winners of the final rounds will probably be able to claim anything from a fat defiler, some codes, cash prizes, maybe the necrosis.

You'll be well compensated for your efforts. Igiss is writing blank checks and all I need to do is sign 'em.

So put out your best. We'll see where we are in a few weeks. Post your pictures here. If your post was hidden it's because it was a poor submission. If you submit enough poor submissions you will be asked to leave the thread and not return.

I'll start by showing one of my favorite scenic locations. The large planet in the foreground is Miura and that is Planet Niiza in the background. I enjoy the "sunrise" effect, the brillance of Niiza (just by the corona too) and the different coloured nebulae far back.



(I wouldn't mind commanding the Necrosis :P)

Here are some Nomad/Wild related screens I thought were worth sharing,

Nomad Fleet Amasses, around 50 blue messages were thrown about in the hour or so of battle in Delta there, great fun for all involved.

The environmental awesomeness of AoM's Togo and Yuri's Omicron Iota combined.

The only two Togo Battleships on the server fight. I lost, Q_Q.

NPC Osiris explodes all over my ship,

This one is really hard to explain, so I'll leave it up to you to figure out what the hell is going on. Looks cool though.

I ventured into the dark and cold temple that is my Freelancer screenshots folder. Scary place I tell ya' with traps and all.

I decided to give this a shot as well.

First of all my Kusari trader the Tetsu-ro.Maru while exiting a tradelane I think it was in Shikogu. I love the purple sun at the background in combination with extra light from the exiting of the TL.


Second, although it has less professional look I think it looks cool still. A Order Geb came in Liberty and tried to escape through Zone 21. Poor fellow got destroyed by a large fleet exactly in front of the gate to Alaska. I like this pic because it looks like the explosion is coming out of the Jumpgate and me and another GB look like they are diving into the fire
