well people will have to think more carefully when their hull reaches the last block . i meant i've seen enough dead-man-talking .
and dead char (with faction tag and/or rank >40) should be "blocked" until the server restart .
my opinion might be completely stupid

Not completely stupid,
a bit extreme though....

When I read the title, I've been thinking of player ships dropping escape pods (like the mission escape pods).

But that... well

as long as you pay your Internet bill and home bill..you know...power or water...Gas..or anything else...and as long as players here want to PVP and RP after their death. its not a good idea...and wont Improve anything...really..Nothing.

but people like you sometimes suggest Great Ideas.

thanks again.

Blocking ability to talk with respawn window open would limit most of the cases of "dead" people screaming on system chat after death.

Also I did.
BTW, in Escape Velocity series that idea with "real" escape pod implemented. When you die - no, when your ship is destroyed, - you find youself in a simpliest ship (like Starflier) without guns @ equipments (quite logical as for me) but your nav map & bank account are safe (also quite logical). Then on nearest base you buy a new ship...
Excellent game series. Realism, logic, variety of missions... It lacks multiplayer only.

I think it would be nice if dying had more consequences, like in EVE - it would improve a lot of things, and also serve as a much needed money sink, that could fuel increased trading and thus action on the server.

Something like a percentage of your ship's worth getting withdrawn from your account when dying (which would also effectively reduce suicidal behaviour for capship pilots), and if there isnt enough money your ships is left with an insane amount of damage (which would render it useless for PVP until it gets fixed).

Losing your ship might be a bit excessive though, but severe consequences would improve the dynamics of Disco and make it feel less like CoD or Battlefield.

It's possible, but I seriously doubt it's ever going to work with the current Disco crowd.

Should something like this be added. Expect people like me to start whineing A LOT about how caps are so easily killed by bombers, and how its stupid that a ship that costs such a huge amount to fix is also no where near as effective as the price tag will have you belive.

Not all Cap owners are powertraders. I have about 15 mil in bank sure, but it costs me a mil to replace all the destroyed kit. I'm not tradeing at all anymore since I would sooner stab myself. So how long will I be able to use that ship until I either:
A. Run out of cash, or
B. Stop playing freelancer for months on end again because I don't want my wallet emptied every time some lolwuts decide to raid manhatten with battleships. (Which is every day)
