So I thought this might be a fun thing to do.

If you vote, please post when the poll option tells you to post. If the option does not tell you to post and you want to post, post anyways!

For clarification purpose, the "new type" of ship is reserved for ships that have new roles like the bombers and the interceptor concept. Obviously this will require a post.

The two last options require post mainly because there are good reasons for not adding new ships into the game. Also, if you take the time to vote on a poll, you can spend another few seconds to post a reason you don't care ( you cared enough to look in here...).

add more turrets to a train and take off cargo space...some sort of bastardized monster that the junkers jury rigged to take on gunboats or something....

@ Mal: If you can get permission and if you get the files I can at least look at it. Also I am finishing a ship I started a while ago for Kusari; http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=4149. Skinning is almost done, then it is just a matter of converting it to CMP/MAT. The last step is now easy b/c I have MS working properly and know how to transfer models from MAYA to MS w/ out loseing anything.

I voted new type of ship...

I'd been thinking of a new type of transport... Sleek and fast (full thrust speed) and relatively maneuverable (better than most larger transports), around 4000 cargo. No weapon mounts save for a countermeasure. Fairly low armor, 60k-80k.

Where the container transport is designed to take a beating and get cargo into dangerous territory, this transport would be to get cargo to distant places fast, especially places other large transports have trouble reaching (due to asteroids or whatever). Also perfect for smugglers, since it has a better chance of escaping from the Law than one of the flying bricks.

I dunno, in my mind I keep seeing it as something like a smaller version of the Outcast Destroyer.

yeah...take the whale idea in another direction...instead of sacrificing guns for cargo...sacrifice guns and armor for maneuverability and speed...possibly with 2xCM mount?

for the barge, how bout it have like 5000 cargo, be capship sized, but no turrets or heavy armor. that way it would require escorts, and make things more fun for both pirates and traders.
