what is the purpose of the bases??


i mean they are only for dock???

ahyes left that bit out sorry

WHAT ARE THEY FOR?

players can 'stock' them as i understand and so they can set prices for thing that they have 'stocked'. as well as factions using them for an HQ or safe house, or even a simple staging base. also i belive that they will be the only places you can get docking/cloaking moduels.

Oh look, a rumour thread.



Anyway.

They will be able to produce Docking Modules, Cloaks, Hyperspace Scanners, and Jump Drives... For now. Manufacturing of general commodities may come later.

Edit: plus storage for commodities and equipment.

By Hyperspace scanners I'm assuming he's meaning Hyperspace Coordinator Modules - or whatever their called. There used along side the Jump drives but they are the piece which actually picked where you want to jump to, so you'de have to use both of the modules together whenever jumping between systems.

Or at least that is my understanding of it.

If I got to make a player owned base, I'd place it 25k directly above Mannhattan and it would be an Outcast dreadnought.

Any idea on what they might cost? How much cargo can they hold? How strong are they if you can pew pew them? And how many ships can you dock on them?

These are the thing i would like to know. If any one can tell me about these thing, it would be very nice.
