Where are most of those people who called themselves Alliance? They are here, deciding for you and the others. Can a democracy be effective in critical situation? Never. Especially the democracy performed by whoever else except you.

The terms of that agreement set up by a group of ruthless despots and they are a first step forward to final degradation of Theta as a balance point of Omicrons. It's your choice, Argus, but if I was you and wanted to burn all the bridges, I would better give the station out to Maltese fleet since it will never be a Freeport anymore - just a resupply point for a certain misanthropic regime. And, well, congratulations, it will completely strip the rabbit hole to the last Zoner inner sanctum - Omicron-74.

Well, I will not blame you for any of those decisions anyway. I voted against the point you proposed.

Mr. Finch, Some time ago, i attempted to negotiate and reach a suitable compromise. I was treated rather well by the Corsair representative, but rather negatively by my fellow Zoners. Once again, When i ask for opinions, I am ridiculed for my efforts, and continually have stones cast at me. I only try to end this conflict in a reasonable way, but our options are rather limited at the moment. If you have a better idea, I am all for hearing it.

I always avoided throwning stones into Zoners even since I have some of them I would like to meet personally and force to listen what do I think of them in generally - I will still avoid doing even that. I understand the difficulty of the situation you are forced to solve, but listening to people who can't be reasonable at this certain case because they feel too safe or because they don't want to face consequences of being Zoner and giving other Zoners a hand when it's needed is not a way out.

I don't see a future for Theta under Corsair dominion. I see the whole situation not as a serie of random events, but as a number of continious provocations authorised by Elders for the purpose of starting a war and gaining control over system, especially after we were weakened with Alliance collapse. If you need a hand on station, I will be there in a half an hour, but I persistently ask you to disagree with the documents Corsair offer.

I don't believe that our troubles be resolved if we will exchange freedom to a doubtful safety. Freeport Nine is too sweet for all the people around - the one who has a control over it gets a great tactical advantage. It's the only triumph card we have here. Use it. If you really want to discuss it not on the unsafe channel like this one, I will join you on station.

Lets take a look at this. Vary closely.

First while I no longer live there Freeport 9 and 12 is where I spent my years growing up... personally I empathize with you on wanting to go over this proposal with everyone else but, again the corsairs are asking too much of you considering what this situation has entailed over the past few weeks.

I know its a cinch for me to give advise from all the way over in Baffin but let me please just offer suggestions and my input and let it lie where it must in your heart.

1. The occupants of Port 9 ban all war ships from any faction and of any type docking with the Port.

In this instance '€œwar ships'€ is defined as Fighter/Bombers/Gunboats and all Capital class ships '€“ the one exception to this is Zoner war ships, which we will agree to on the basis that you should be able to defend yourselves if the need arise.

This is roughly 90% of your traffic. I do recall the times I would be studying Bi-Neural circuit implementations... look out my window between shifts in the maintenance ports and see a Maltese destroyer or a corsair gunboat and get nervous... So I can understand the little voices in THEIR heads saying why this condition needs to be met. Its fear.

The reality of this condition will create a 5.0 Klick radius of complete and utter chaos around FP-9.

There is nothing keeping everyone from going to war outside the free fire zone as it is but this will only increase the amount of fighting around the station. No one thinks with a gun at their backs.. And this will make it worse. I would think the council of elders would see that, so I must assume either they too are desperate to see how desperate you are in this situation... or being vary stubborn and lacking a true dedication of compromise in this issue.

I also dont think Ms.Tate and her gorgeous ship or even our colony ships optimized with the most advanced military technology we can buy, create, or salvage can keep the peace in this possible future. Or save lives. This will make Freeport 9 the true cause of the war in Theta.

2. The occupants of Port 9 agree to re-open the docking facilities for all Corsair trade ships.

Trade ships being defined as any ship not specifically designed for military use

This is the point where I could tell their speaking out of fear and desperation. The scenario this creates is an escort of ships waiting on one side of a fictional bubble. With the rest of god knows who floating in space. This will be abused, anyone can see this. The corsairs just made themselves vulnerable, no one rational does this.

Situations that conflict with this rule... Ships in distress NOT because of fighting. Are we to admit them in breaking the treaty? Send them to corfu? send them to Free port 12? as bloodthirsty escorts on the OTHER side of the bubble wait and hunt weak prey?

What if a captain of a sails ship pulls a groin muscle? Etc. Honestly its absurd to make one station de-militarized and as they fortify a pocket of gas around a jumphole. (no im not ignoring the fact were allowed to fortify our own Freeport to enforce this nonsense either)

3. The Napo cloud is to be considered as Corsair sovereign territory, and Corsair laws are to be recognized throughout Theta '€“ except on the Port and the surrounding 5K of space. The Empire reserves the right to enforce Corsair Laws within the 5K of space only with regard to the apprehension of recognized Corsair enemies endeavoring to avoid Corsair justice.

'€œCorsair Enemies'€ being defined as all those shown as '€œenemy'€ on the info card (Outcasts, Hessians, GMG, Blood Dragons, GC, Mollies).

Making a bubble of gas to sovereign territory is absurd. Its a green, irradiated cloud that anything can hide in. The above scenario is leading to the fact a military presence is useless/costly and that the Gamma jump hole will most likely within months of accepting this will be covered in scrap metal capital-ship mines. At worst.

And their laws throughout theta? Who wrote this? Did they not see how they basically said RIGHT there to make fp9 'their' police station?

It makes me think this is just a veiled idea to fortify the entrances and exits to their territory which is also a dumb idea. This is not here or there anyway why is it on an agreement concerning you? Theta is free territory held by a handful of outposts, that majority, yours.

4. The Corsair Empire is permitted to maintain (at the Empires expense) a small customs office for the express purpose of monitoring the above agreement, and to ensure that no contraband goods pass through the Corsair ZOI.

If they really want to pay out to make things peaceful and trade again they should build their own guard station where it bothers them the most. Then maybe in fifty years we will see Corsair trade lanes and Corsair police and maybe even a small set of hatching corsair corporations and then the omicrons can be subject to all the stupid throwbacks of house space.

This needs to be done in their system. Theta isn't yours or theirs. Overall these last two points is imperialist and conquest via paperwork and commerce.

A vary transparent piece of paperwork.


You both need a mediator. badly. I would focus all your energy and all of your negotiating to select honest delegates from each side. and a mediator to talk it through without pinging a peanut gallery. This entire mess has come way beyond a town hall issue.

What they proposed is unacceptable. As a zoner that lives and has friends in Theta, I am against that pact.
As long as I'll be alive, Omicron Theta will be a FREE and INDEPENDENT system. I will not obey or recognize the dictatorship of any faction, group or nation.
Mr. Silvan Argus, I don't know who you are... maybe you are, indeed one of the administrators of the Nine but you do not speak for all the system and I'm sure you're not the only one that can say yes or no. You do not represent all the zoners in the Omicrons so be careful with what you say in the future.
