I too have been traversing liberty lately. What I have concluded is that the LSF has a good handle on what's up. A few of the LN I have ran into seem like new recruits and seem to be a bit over-agressive. That's not a generalization.

Alright but let's forget the screenies for a second. You said the [LN], it seems you are targeting practically everyone in the Faction.

Surely you got a situation you can depict or a name you can provide to support your case? If this truly is as normal as you make it sound in your first post, then this shouldn't be a problem.

I know personally that taking screenshots all the time can be annoying. You tell what happened, we confirm it with the guy who this is about, and then we decide what to do. Unlike *some other feedback threads* this one actually has a purpose, if your complaint is valid we be damn to sure to fix our behaviour.

There are times when we are required to kill things, there are times when we are able to enjoy flying around without problems and enjoying a good chat.

You are always free to join and set an example, and deal with we have to deal, it's easy to tell us how to do things from outside, please, apply in the faction.

I would just like to say that, I salute how the [LN] is controlling fights and stopping ganks from happening in Liberty. Every time I was in a fight, and there was a risk of getting shot at by 3 chainfiring gb's, or 3 other fighters, there was always an [LN] guy nearby that stopped them, and told them to back off.

Even if you are not part of the fight that is going on, you still control the surroundings to keep it enjoyable. That is very cool indeed. Just thought I'd mention this.

Thank you for catching Vindicator's original post, not thye edited version Casero. I appreciate that.

Now, Vindicator, I'd like to know what examples you can give me of there incidents where [LN] members have done something you find distasteful, what specific actions you dislike, and who it was who did it.

Of course, if you don't feel like posting that here, publicly, then PM it to me.

This is not really feedback, per se, but I wanted to point out that I felt it interesting how Discovery really mimics society and real life in ways I would never have imagined. Having served in multiple house militaries in the past, I have had a taste of what its like to be insta'd while typing by a bomber that's simply sitting quietly in space.

The fact that you face constant danger can be very nerve-wracking, and it is not easy.

At the same time, I've had the privilege of meeting several American servicemen and veterans from various conflicts, such as WWII to the recent wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, and I've heard stories about the same kind of strain and stress that they faced on a daily basis. For example, "Why is this guy walking towards me after we've told him to go away - Could he have a bomb - I can't see what's in this cart, etc..."

There is an obvious difference between a real life conflict and a conflict in a spaceships pewpew game, but the stress is similar, and I want to applaud you folks for being able to handle it as well as you have now. Think of this as a genuine experience, something that has exposed you to the shadow of a side of warfare in benign, gentle way.

The Junker Congress has become quite indignant with the attitudes coming from the players in the Liberty Navy. We have been verbally assaulted on multiple occasions now. I have been told this is acceptable because it was all done in RP. First off, the rules exist because certain language and behavior is inappropriate whether it is in RP or not. In fact, in reading the rules several times I cannot find where it is written that certain things normally not allowed are ok if done in the context of RP. Words matter. Whether they are spoken by real or imaginary people they matter.

I spent thirteen years of my life on an EMS crew. I have seen things that will remain with me forever. I have seen the dark side of humanity. As disturbing as some things I have seen have been, the attitudes behind the actions are often even more disturbing. I worked a call where a woman had been run over by a car. When her best friend showed up and wanted to ride to the hospital with her, her husband'€™s response was, '€œI'€™m leaving, if you go you'€™re finding your own way home [CENSORED].'€ There was no indication at all that he saw anything inappropriate in these words. I also had the misfortune of responding to a call where a man had thrown his pregnant wife down a flight of stairs. He then stood tall looked me in the eye and said, '€œWell the [CENSORED] deserved it.'€ It is one thing to see another human being mistreated. It is another matter entirely to see it done completely without remorse. I am again feeling just as disturbed by the language coming from the Liberty Navy.

These are only my experiences. I was led to reflect on this after many members of my factions complained about this verbal abuse, sharing their own stories about why this disturbed them so much. This is not just a game here. People are upset. It disturbs me that people can speak with so little regard for human dignity without the slightest thought of how their words may affect another person. I have seen that happening far too much in the Disco community lately. Words matter. They impact people in ways we often do not realize.

I have been told by a few people that the insults and abuse directed at the Junker Congress are acceptable because they were done within the context of role play. This argument is flawed from the start. Professional military organizations are able to operate efficiently in part because they have a strict code of conduct. They do not allow their officers to use foul language in public and insult people in the course of their duties. The '€œrole play'€ directed at us does not fit a naval officer in any way. I have seen the faction leader of the Liberty Navy state that he is tired of seeing words like '€œcorrupt'€ used to describe his faction. Allowing this kind of behavior among naval officers will only encourage more such comments in the future. Words matter.

In short, it seems to the players of the Junker's Congress that we are being spat upon. We ask that the leadership of the LN takes the time to look at their motivations, and for them to see us as more then "transport punching bags".

Many Congressmen are joining me in this statement. To all Junkers I ask one favor. I invite you to post your comments with me but to not get into an argument on this thread. It is a feedback thread. Leave your feedback and then leave. I know many of you will have more to say. Please do it elsewhere.

The general trend in behavior that's been about is NOT what one should expect from an official faction, one representing an NPC faction, no less. It's done more harm than good, if it's even done any good at all.
